One of the possible ways I could achieve my financial goals for the year, is to get a remote job in Elixir. Now I am trying to apply the framework I shared last week.

🛠️ Build your skills.

- Volunteer 20hrs every week for Auroville project to work with Shankar Devy (someone who is highly respected in Elixir community) - Spend 1 hour every weekday on coding small problems #deliberatepractice - AdventOfCode - Exercism - Read a couple of books to improve fundamentals

👂 Build your reputation.

- Write a blogpost for Toptal ( already pitch accepted for “how to build a JSON API app using elixir and phoenix” ) - Write 1 blogpost every month on personal blog

🌐 Build your network.

- Follow Elixir folks on Twitter like Jose Valim - Join slack community for Elixir programming language - Do a search on LinkedIn for Elixir and reach out to folks

I feel building my reputation and network are the tricky ones. We often neglect this at our own peril because there are no well defined steps to do this. But let's see how this goes. Will keep you posted !! If you have any suggestions, that would be helpful 😊

+1 for reputation building and networking. I think all it requires is narrowing down on your chosen niche and communities and being active on those. Providing feedback is one of the best and most appreciated ways to build your credibility. And it's important to be critical rather than playing nice all the time.
