So here's the focus for Season 1 (start date: 1st April 2022; tenure: 3 months). • Create a team to work on business development activity : Depending on a single volunteer for generating leads and follow up is not a sustainable approach. Things happen and the volunteer may need to take a step back. Hence it helps to have a team which can share the load, provide inputs and act as a redundancy. Current target is to have a 3 member team comprising me and 2 other volunteers. I don't have any previous experience with business development, so understand that we are open to anyone willing to put in the time and effort. • Create a target list of companies to build relationships : This will be our go-to-list to build our partnerships. We have finite amount of time, so we want to prioritize where we spend our time. We need to find businesses that have alignment with our goals and principles. Current target is to create a filtered list of companies that have good alignment with us and bring huge value to the RI community. • Create a pipeline for deals : Deals do not happen in a day or two. Like in any relationship, trust takes time. Instead of focusing on a deal exclusively, we want to build a deal pipeline, where multiple deals are making progress in parallel (assuming we reach this happy state). The goal is to have at least 2 deals in the pipeline. This means we don't have to close any deals in the given season, though it would be amazing! For sake of better understanding, I will elaborate on what is considered a deal (as per the biz-dev team right now): • Any flow of funds to RI team (for promotion, job postings, etc) • Any offer for members of RI community (discounts on products, exclusive deals, etc) • Any collaboration with RI team/community (webinars, etc) • Any promotion of RI community • Anything else you can think of (just let us know our crazy ideas, cuz YOLO) NOTE : This is an initial draft. It is open to ideas, suggestions and criticism. Do provide your inputs and remember to share any leads 🙂

I'm a 27-year-old guy from Delhi. Last year after completing my MBA from ICFAI Busines School (IBS), Hyderabad, I joined a company called The Smart Cube as a Research Analyst however as I left my job back in October and have been unemployed ever since–simply because I didn't want to work😌. Now after 5 months of break I'm looking to start again and am looking for interesting remote opportunities.

I came across the Remote Indian community while on Google and was instantly hooked.

I feel the community can become a big resource for people who want to go remote and I can help with the biz development part.

Now, I do not possess any prior experience but based on the requirements of the guild and my passion for business/community growth I can definitely figure out ways to make it work.

Based on my brief experience in this community, (especially the number of discussions surrounding this topic) any benefits related to inward forex remittance looks like the single biggest "perk" that can help almost everyone in this community. 🙂 What kind of benefits with inward forex remittance? • A reliable, no-frills, no-delay relationship with a bank/financial-institution with dedicated account managers. • Lucrative exchange rates (considering the large transaction amounts of the entire remote-indian community annually) • Other financial perks typically reserved for folks transacting in crores/millions. Is it possible to obtain such benefits by negotiating as a group with banks/any other financial institutions?

Is there a slide-deck (4-5 slides) describing Remote-Indian community that one can share with the public? • Total member-count. Composition by current-location (Top 5-10 cities/countries). • Estimate of anonymous annual-income brackets of the entire tribe. Composition by currency INR, USD, Euro). • Top 10 services availed by the members of the community (Inward-remittance, Investment advise, Tax-planning filing, ...) • < Any other stats come to mind that can attract any businesses? > • Contact information (Slack channel, biz-dev guild members) Ideally would be a page in RI site (and an offline PDF of the same) that any RI-member can use when approaching any potential businesses for deals for RI members
