Hey everyone! We, at Remote Tools (https://remote.tools), are launching an ambitious project - the “Remote Work 2020” report! This report will include the results of the survey conducted with remote workers. We will also be publishing a guide tackling the most-discussed topics in the field of remote working. This guide will draw from our learnings gained through podcasts with the likes of Gitlab, Invision, Hubstaff, Scrapinghub and FlexJobs, as well as experiences shared with us by successful remote workers (detailed outline below)! Wanted your help in making the report better - would be super helpful if you could fill up the survey and also share it with remote workers you know 😀 It is a pretty short survey and shouldn’t take longer than 2 minutes. Here is the survey link: https://www.remote.tools/remote-work-2020-survey. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Report outline 1. Introduction 2. Remote workers survey stats & analysis 3. Remote working guide - a) How to tackle loneliness? b) How to manage a remote team? c) How to build a culture in a remote team? d) Remote-first or Remote-friendly? e) Is remote the future? 4. Remote work chronicles: Stories of successful remote workers 5. Remote work podcasts: Podcasts with leaders of top distributed teams and our learnings from them

Hi guys, A lot of you might recognise me as the guy who is constantly spamming the community with the forms to join UpSkillie.com 😛 The idea behind UpSkillie was to act as a bridge between the candidates and distributed teams for pre-screened candidates and help them find remote jobs. To achieve this we have created a course and I would love to hear feedback and suggestions from remote work veterans on it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The course is designed for the candidates who are pre-screened in technical skills. The content is designed in such a way such that it renders candidates highly desirable and culturally fit for distributed teams. The modules to be covered in the course are: 1. Technical Writing Training for Blog Writing, Project Report et al 2. Open source contributions and making personal projects presentable with live running links 3. Asynchronous communication 4. Team culture building, informal/water cooler conversations and connection building in distributed teams 5. Communication Skills Module : Over-Communication, Non-Violent Communication and Trust building in distributed teams 6. Remote Collaboration Infrastructure: Familiarity with the tools and protocols implemented in distributed teams 7. Work-Life Balance : Mental heath and Productivity management 8. Video-Resumes

Hey guys, needed some advice! I had made a simple Chrome extension that I needed for myself. (Was less than a day's work). I had put it out on the Chrome Webstore, and it grew to 2900+ users organically with hardly any efforts for promoting it. Here it is: <https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/days-until-days-countdown/eddnhnjblfligfijgckclhnkmilmdhij> A guy reached out to me saying he'd like to buy the ownership of the extension. I wouldn't mind selling it since I had no monetisation plans for it. He has asked me to quote a price. But I have no idea what amount to quote. I think the functionality/code itself is not much valuable, but the number of users might be. It would be great help if anyone can come up with some valuation for this little extension. Here are some stats: • Current users: 2,991 • High chrome webstore ranking for related keywords • Was once growing at 300+ new users per week • Growing at 50+ new users per week • 50% + users are from the USA, 10+% from Australia • The extension popup has been opened 40k + times so far

Look at similar tools and see how much they charge per signup. I would say maybe 5$ for something like this. Assume 5% of users pay which is industry standard. So that's 15$ per week or 60$ per month. Usually 24x of revenue is what people pay for tech products. So that's 1440$

I'm going to go against the grain to say reading is overrated in this decade. If anything, your resolution should be to read less (but learn more).

Today I am launching Keymap.pro - A simple tool to quickly find and learn shortcuts for all your favorite apps & give your productivity a boost. Using shortcuts can boost your productivity by upto 146% yet most people don’t use them as it isn’t convenient to look it up every time you forget a shortcut . Keymap.pro provides a solution to this issue by giving you the ability to quickly find and learn the shortcuts. So next time you find yourself performing a task repeatedly , fire up Keymap.pro using the shortcut ⌘ + Shift + K , choose your app , find your shortcut , bookmark it so that you can quickly view it next time . Refer it from Keymap.pro , master it then move on to the next one. Supercharging your productivity is that simple now ! This is my first indie project so feedback , suggestions , criticism , views and opinions are welcome and much appreciated . Visit www.keymap.pro today to try it out.
