common is what I'm concerned about. With PDK, I can easily subvert your opinions for my own! πŸ˜„

we already use that in all our puppet modules and I want to roll that out for puppet-lint plugins and beaker plugins (with different configs)

I guess the question is the template. Especially to ewoud's concern about syncing code, IIRC, there is no template synced, but rather generated by rubocop itself and then pdk acts on that. But as I originally said, I do not prefer the use of
    sed
as a non-interactive configuration tool except in the most simplistic cases. And I don't like anything to be interactive, either.

also, for @Craig Gumbley, the ability to divorce the bundled ruby is especially good in the case of all the ruby 3.2 work being done that will save puppet, inc. a lot of hassle by the time they move to it, so there is direct business value, too

@bastelfreak something has to make whatever I want rubocop.yaml to look like and it sure ain't gonna be
    vim

so I’d revive PRM better (but w/o containers requirement as it was implemented originally)

with PRM one should be able to install the Ruby plugins with the versions required and the Puppet plugin with the versions required..

bastelfreak: https://github.com/voxpupuli/beaker-docker/pull/87 is the only enhancement to beaker-docker, but it doesn't touch code so is it really?
