Hey all! Quick question to those who're using EORs to hire remote teams...we're currently evaluating a couple of platforms and I was wondering which ones you've researched and eventually gone for? I'm looking at Oyster HR, Remote.com, Omnipresent, and Deel mainly, for both permanent staff and contract hiring.

Hey everyone! Still getting used to this channel, so hoping here is the right channel to ask for advice! Does anyone use translation services for their business? We're looking to go international with some of our VR content, so I'm looking into language services for audio voiceovers/subtitles. I've had a chat with this company today (universallanguagesolutions.com), but it'd be great if anyone knows of any others they've used!

Hi all! We’re thinking of taking everyone away for a night or two as an extended offsite later this year - probably somewhere in the UK, within a few hours drive from London. If anyone has any venues / locations they’d recommend for ~40 people, would be much appreciated!

Hi All! We are looking for a new office for our team and as we still don't go in that frequently it's not worth it to rent a space permanently. Is office-sharing an option, has any of you hear about something like this? What I mean is renting a space together with one or more other teams, taking turns on who goes in each day. We would only need the space for one day every week, for approximately 10-12 people. Thank you!

Hello! Just wondering if anyone uses any amazing rota planning/staff scheduling software they'd recommend? We currently use Planday but it doesn't integrate with our HRIS so would be great to find something that does+is more user friendly+is cheaper! We've also just had a workforce planning assistant start in our ops teams - if anyone has anyone in a similar role and would benefit from some peer chats do let me know 🙂

Hey all - I'm looking for 'tail policy' insurance to add on to our current insurance. But, it's only called 'tail policy' in the US not here in the UK. Anyone with experience in both these countries can give me some direction to what this is called here as the brokers have no idea what I am referring to.

Hey all - given the macro economic conditions, my CEO has asked myself and other department heads to make significants cuts as our series B has been pushed back & need to extent runway, I'm interested to know from an ops perspective if anyone found any ways to do this without cutting staff - such as maybe moving remote - thus saving money on office rent for example? And also interested to know what the impact has been / how you managed it ? Keen to get as many thoughts as possible :)

Hey All. I'm running an event on the 15th of June with an M&A Exec from Nestle. This roundtable is focused on AgriTech and FoodTech and the zeitgeist in that space. It's 4 pm in Londons west end, face-to-face only I'm afraid, and would suit CEO, COO and CTO's or their direct reports in the above verticals. DM me if this sounds like it would suit you or someone in your network.

Hi all, we're looking into setting up some kind of overview dashboard for ESG metrics 🌳 Our focus is people-oriented so we're hoping we can do a lot of this in Hibob and Workable, but for non-people data we need to consider a best approach/whether we want everything in one place. Does anyone have any best practices around this, or found something that has/hasn't worked for them? Ideally we would avoid paying for new software, if possible 🤷 Would love to pick your brains! 🧠

Hi 👋! I am looking to support one of my team members with some recommendations, and thought to turn to our community. My colleague is a data/business analyst who is seeking communities for data analytics and mentorship. Regarding mentoring, his primary development areas are leadership, project management, developing a more well rounded understanding of how data can support business and pioneer a data first culture. So the mentor doesn't necessarily need to be coming from the data analytics space. If you have any recommendations for mentoring schemes and data analytics communities please drop them in the thread. As always, greatly appreciate any insights and support received from Ops stories keanu thanks

    https://blog.asmartbear.com/emptiness.html
Thirty spokes join in one hub
In its emptiness, there is the function of a vehicle
Mix clay to create a container
In its emptiness, there is the function of a container
Cut open doors and windows to create a room
In its emptiness, there is the function of a room
That which is empty is used to create functionality
–Lao Tzu, Chapter 11, Tao Te Ching, ~600 BCE, translation by Derek Lin
If a wooden ship sails around the world, but along the way each board rots and is replaced by new boards, such that by the end of its journey every board has been replaced, is it the still the same ship? Did “it” really go around the world? Lao Tzu suggests the answer is “yes,” because the functionality of the ship — the “emptiness” created by those boards — is the essence of the ship. What about a startup? Is a company of 2 people and 150 customers the “same company” as with 150 people and 25,000 customers? What is constant? What doesn’t change as we grow, and thus binds us together in this journey? #culture, #values, #dailydoseofphilosophy @quiet-orange-43581 @famous-lawyer-27595

Hi everyone! A colleague and I have just launched a stage-1 iteration of a community based around async working. We’re calling it asynchappy. At this stage, we’re looking for feedback on this initial 1-pager (plus an FAQ page) to see if we’re getting our message across clearly. Async is a growing, but still a fresh concept, so we’re gauging interest and uptake in subscriptions and engagement around the topic. The website is asynchappy.com The key answers we're looking for is one of the following: Why would / did you subscribe up? or Why would you not / did not subscribe? But any feedback on design, clarity, how it made you feel, etc, would be appreciated! Thanks in advance! -Ash

Hi Everyone. I am travelling to Paris (Wed to Fri) to visit some of our clients and as part of that, will be speaking to them about how they work, use their spaces, understand policies around D&I, accessibility, sustainability and lots more. If you have an office in Paris and would be open to having me pop in, I'd love to arrange a half an hour coffee with your team there. Feel free to pop me a DM (rather than replying all) with any Q's 🙂 Thanks!

Hi Team! Have a question regarding OKRs I’m wondering if there is anyone that has tried both the OKR layer approach: organisation, department and individual or just having one organisation wider layer that everyone is expected to follow? Would love to hear thoughts on pros/cons on each approach.
