    90 second Ops BizOps Process Survey - answers shared with participants to help us all learn and grow! Hi everyone! I’m trying to understand how busy Ops professionals build scalable BizOps processes in their organizations (so I can improve my own!!) I feel like this is a question we all have, so I thought I could run a survey: • To capture the different ways we handle this challenge • Share it out with those who take part (make readable and anonymised) • Hopefully we can all learn something about common pain points that will help us improve :D FYI - how we run BizOps process: Notion, a HRIS to access employee data, some slack request forms that pull through google sheets, and some software/benefits/assets tracked in google sheets; as a result I feel like I live in an admin deluge which doesn't leave enough time for strategic stuff… Thanks and attaching the link once more for luck here!     Anyone had experience in re-writing SOPs and training almost from scratch? Want to take a zero-based approach to things, but trying to gather best practice before I kick off the project. In this case it's classic operations- SOPs for people doing stuff, including how they use internal systems. Looking for software tools, frameworks, ways of keeping up to date, aspects to consider, or even references to other posts in this Slack (I'm sure it's been discussed before)

    Hey!! I have a favour to ask. We’re building “career pathway” pages into our new L&D feature (due to launch Beta next week - I will keep you updated) to help our candidates identify the route that is best for them when they enter the world of work (our icp is early careers, likely recently left education or in the first few years of their career). With this we’re looking to create “a day in the life of” videos for all of the career pathways we specialise in. We’re actually looking for a volunteer for Ops. Is there anyone out there that would happy be recorded talking about their Ops career? Given our target audience is quite entry level, we would be looking for someone in the earlier stages of their career v a COO profile. Anyone keen?

    Hi Ops Stories family, have you been through the transition from 10 people to 25 in functional teams but working cross-functionally that are globally distributed (ie up to 13 hour timezone difference)? If so would you be able to share your best practice for everyone: * Having full context / visibility across the business to understand individual, team and business tasks/priorities * Being held accountable At Lumio: * We have cross-functional rhythms and comms in the form of 6-weekly OKR cycles, weekly OKR check-in meetings and Slack updates, fortnightly leadership team check-ins (maybe going to weekly), daily public slack individual update on priorities for the day (to be adjusted if there is a competing priority on the day) * We don't have a company wide view of tasks and how they impact each other cross-functionally * Product & Engineering functional teams are (perhaps fairly standard) with a more siloed approach not using the company public channels, but with great rhythms team buy-in but only possible by mandating daily standups within core UK hours (so limits ability to attract talent based in timezones > 5 hours different) - they're also highly effective in use of Jira * The remaining functional teams (Growth, Ops which includes Finance, Legal & GRC, People) are heavy users of the public Slack channels but use siloed task management areas in Notion * So it feels like Lumio is having to use valuable time/resource to duplicate reporting and prioritising of tasks > at 14 people it's ok, but does not feel scalable * We want to be able to work asynchronously, with fewer but more valuable meetings so we can operate more efficiently at scale whilst being able to attract globally distributed talent We are considering: * Rolling out Jira for cross-functional task management and accountability plus comms in fully public channels (with guidance on tagging, acknowledging, responding to maintain signal over noise but provide full context availability) across the whole company for cross-functional context/prioritisation Grateful for anyone who's had experience in doing this!

    hey all - I’d love to know if any has set up (and has recommendations for lawyers) a US option scheme for US employees employed via a PEO/EOR. We currently use remote.com and are of the understanding we can issue NSOs. I’ve spoken to their legal team and the process sounds relatively straightforward, but requires us creating an option scheme which remote.com will then approve, though we need to be careful with how it’s framed and worded. I’ve spoken to one lawyer so far who has a bit confused by the relationship and we hit a bit of a wall. Would love to know of any recommendations for lawyers who have specifically worked on this before. TIA!

    Hey 👋 I’m looking for an office space for 2-3 people. We’re running a community for CFOs in disruptive tech startups. Currently we are hot-desking with Regus and we would love to move into something more permanent from the summer. Currently it’s the 2 of us but we’re looking to hire a new person. We would either love to move into a 2 people office in a shared coworking space with a third hot-desking license. Or, we are also considering, if anyone has a few spare desks in their office due to hybrid working or other reasons we would love to share your office. Location-wise we’re looking at central London around Oxford Street, Fitzrovia, Soho, Marlybone… something easily accessible with the central line.
