I agree, I’ve had need for that, too.

Also, same applies in Action buttons, sometimes I wished I could have displayed some information that is readonly (like a formula field) but it’s not currently possible.

<@U03E1HNJ3PB> users don’t necessarily need to use Google sign-on to access the app—they can create an account and log in using their email address and a one-time code we send to their email.

We don’t have public access without logging in, but you can enable open signup and allow everyone to sign up.

Hey all, not a directly Stacker related, but related with data-source for stacker! Can somebody suggest a best way to do a DATETIME_DIFF to show hours in between, but excluding weekends? I see there is a way to know the number of days excluding weekends, but not hours.

Great question! Although Google Maps doesn’t make this obvious, it’s actually really simple. You just have to create a map (under Places &gt; Maps), save it, and then add any locations you want to that custom map. Just grab an embed link from that, and you’re all set. Where it may get a little complicated is that in order to share you’ll necessarily be using a Google Account, and the account name will be displayed above the map name you choose. So it might be good to use a non-personal account for this purpose. Thanks for bringing this up! :)

Yes! This method I know, but my map is depending on the data from airtable. I.e. Every record has different pin points, so I cant have a static map for each. My idea was to generate a link in airtable and then use it as an embed URL in StackerHQ

Hmm. I don’t think there’s a way to have Google use a bunch of Airtable records to generate a map…and I’m not sure I’d be comfortable with that myself, giving Google even _more_ data (especially associated with others)… It’s an interesting idea though! :thinking_face:

That data is not about people location, but about an action location place (vehicle tracking), so its not so sensitive in this case

Hey <@U0146FKFCKE>, right now there’s no way to not load edit mode via a URL parameter.

Depending on how you identify who should exit the mode, you might be able to run some conditional javascript that will automatically exit the edit mode when the criteria fits.

How would you disable the edit mode? Simulating a click on the Cancel button, I guess?

You may already have got this far, but thought I’d throw it out there. I don’t think so, but you can make it so that the user doesn’t have to select anything - it’s all pre-selected.

So it then turns into a “You’re sure you want to?” rather than “What do you want?”

I suppose you _could_ have the action button trigger a Zap in Zapier that updates the record to bypass the confirmation step. Could get expensive in terms cost of zaps, though.

Right now there is no way to see whether the user has logged in or the last date of login, but activity logs are definitely a feature we want to build in the future.

Looking for a solution to this within Stacker because the tables are in separate bases and not synced (and trying to avoid a sync for reasons I won’t get into).

Main record is linked to multiple sub-records from another table, each with a value.
On the main record, if any of those related records has a value &gt;X, the main record is marked false.

I’ve tried rolling up the max value, but that rollup field doesn’t seem accessible from a formula,

I’ve tried marking each record true/false on the table, and then doing a lookup in Stacker of those values, but Stacker doesn’t support any kind of includes() or contains() function

Any other ideas?

But you can load the stacker app through mobile browser.

On IOS, I believe there is a way to make a “shortcut” to the web app right on the home screen, making it feel like a mobile app, even thought it’s not.

We’ve been using the mobile browser version to do thousands of bike/cargo bike deliveries for the past year, so I’d recommend it - imperfect though it might be :slightly_smiling_face:

Try doing it the other way around. Whatever the field on that record is that contains the user, put that first in the condition

It’s complicated due to the multiple layers of asynchronous UI loading (not as straightforward as simply loading the script).

It’s something I’ve done plenty of time, but different page requires different trigger code.

<@U03G3BA8ZE3> I have just used the embed function with an formula generated Airtable share view with custom url param filters.

Something I worked out is that Stacker have an vey basic version of embedding. That is to say you can pass them a url for embedding but not the whole embed code snippet. For things like youtube and other media audio players this will likely mean that the way the player looks in the end will be what ever the default is.

The other thing you need to be aware of when linking resources into stacker is CORS. <https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/CORS> the thing you are embedding needs to be setup to support CORS otherwise it will error out.

Whenever your doing stuff like this you should open the browsers console. You can see errors in there and start googling them

Right I think I get it, you want to show data that is related to that related data? ie its not directly related to the car?

If so youll need to use the detail page of the related entity to then show another list of the next relationship.

Yes, using visibility condition. But it applies to the whole block so you might want to put that field in a different block.

Has anyone successfully used Intercom's <https://www.intercom.com/product-tours|Product Tours> feature with Stacker? I already have Intercom connected for support but wanted to know if the CSS targeting required for product tours works properly with Stacker?

Generally speaking you can only use CSS to style, show and hide things. So if you added all the tabs and then use CSS selectors you could use media queries to show and hide different tabs based on the width of the screen.

I got `Error code: SCHEMA_ERROR_PASSWORD` when trying to sync our schema, but our password hasn’t changed. I refreshed the page and tried again and it worked.

• Filterable by tags you define
• Searchable
In terms of the generated lists, do you have an idea of the format you'd like the user to download the list as?

That's good to hear. I tried it out and the only set back is the UI Design. Apart from which, I want the functionality of saving investor leads from filtered search pages to lists.

The lists will be inside the web app from where the users can download the data as a CSV file.

Right now end users can't export .csvs (it's a feature request <https://stacker.canny.io/feature-requests/p/allow-users-to-export-data-as-csv-files|here>) but there may be another way you could create something user friendly. Let me have a think, and perhaps others in the community will have a workaround.

Is it a defined list of users you're working with or are you happy with anyone with a registration link to sign up?

One thing you could do in the latter case is to enable a relatively recent feature, <https://support.stackerhq.com/hc/en-us/articles/6943673505811-Open-Signup|Open Signup>, and include the registration link to your workspace in the onboarding email you send.

Sadly, it’s the former, we pre-create all the accounts for our clients, and then want to inform them about it, with an included intro email (with instructions and videos on how to use the system).

I would like to know if this is possible as well. It makes no sense to not have it be collapsible like it is on a phone. Having it expanded by default takes up almost half of the screen on my iPad.

Can you provide specific examples? I think there’s room for improvement on mobile, but it hasn’t felt unusable to me generally — and I’m definitely not seeing the sidebar take up half of the screen:

Thanks <@U02BB8HKA0Z>, love those - I think 1 and 4 are really interesting in particular, as they can be the hardest part - not just making something, but proper implementation / training etc.

I think one thing a lot of people struggle is what format to record the requirements in - both initially during discovery and than for handoff to the dev/tech person (if they are different people)

Unfortunately Stacker is not intuitive enough that non-technical consultants can deliver it.

Really interesting, something we could perhaps all share experiences of.

Its definitely something I have been meaning to write about for a while. At some point I was planning to do a Freelancers 101 coarse, as after 8 years of consulting, starting as a freelancer, forming a coop and than forming an agency I think I have worked some things out (and have more to learn).

I often coach people who are trying to transition from day job to freelancing/gig worker.

But thats more general stuff. Related to stacker specifically, I think a lot of people fail to push their clients to cut scope during discovery and than end up building things that were actually not needed, or at least not needed now now (as we say in New Zealand).

One of the best exercises I have recently done is a visual roadmap in Figma. Basically we took the pages of the internal app we designed and than ordered them left to right as a prioritised development roadmap. After that we estimated each of the epics of work (pages). Then when the client told us the budget we could see how far down the roadmap that got them.

It was really helpful to get the client to work out what they actually wanted.

incidentally that was not a stacker app, but the UI was inspired by Stacker. I took the designer on a tour of a stacker app and showed them what I meant by “users can browse the data through clicking on related record links”. Once the designer understood this they put together a design for a react admin app for a white label product our client was building.

(if your curios why we didn’t use stacker - not even to POC it was: 1. The user invitation flow with stacker is to slow/confusing. 2. We need to be able to duplicate the app and hook it up to a duplicated airtable base easily, reaching out to stacker support each time we want to duplicate was not an option)

That's super helpful feedback about user invitation flow / app duplication. Certainly two things we want to look at.

How would you feel about sharing some of your processes on a webinar (or some other format)? I'm particularly interested in how you visually roadmap solutions - could be super valuable not just for freelancers/agencies working with clients but also the no-code person in a business trying to convince colleagues.

Is there any way to edit/customize the welcome email that's sent to people via Customer Access? I don't have open sign enabled because it's a closed customer app, and it looks like I can only update the onboarding email for open sign up.

I'm using Chrome on an Android phone, and have the option to display as a "desktop site". Not the best interface (I need to Zoom in / drag the interface around) but would do in a pinch if you need to invite someone on the move.

Safari on iOS as well. The admin UI isn’t designed for mobile, but it’s something we may be able to improve in the future. :)

… Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to help in Safari — at least not on my tiny iPhone. :(

There's a really bulky way to do it:
1. Safari and make the textsize 50% 
2. Click the magnifying glass in the left panel and search users
3. Select it and turn your phone to landscape
4. It's really awkward but with zooming and just sheer grit you can get to the right menus from there

At the moment we enforce a height of 37px.
This is OK for most logos, but if you have a logo with a short height and long width for example, it stretches the height to 37px and can look skewed.

I _think_ (although would love to hear to other suggestions!) the best way to do would be two buttons with conditional visibility - IE one for when the box is checked and one for when it's not

Hmm.. I might be mistaken, but I felt I used to have just one button to do a refresh using it as a toggle.

Are each "hit" recorded as row in a database, or is it just a tally that increases over time?

Each press hit is a new record/row in the DB.

Above is a screenshot of how it looks now. I am trying to add additional chart boxes to show additional metrics (i.e. avg per month. total previous week, etc)

What are you using for your database <@U022US4CCN5>? Stacker Tables / Airtable / something else?

And when you say "total previous week" do you mean "In the last seven days"?

I think I can see how you would do it to show hits in the seven days

1. Go to Airtable and make sure the Press Hits has a "Created time" field
2. In Airtable create a Formula field (call it "Difference", say) and set it to be the difference of today's date and "Created time" in days - something like `(DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(), Created, 'days')` 
3. Sync your schema to Stacker
4. Create a new chart and filter it for Difference &lt;= 7
This should show the number of hits from the last 7 days

This worked perfectly. I have it showing press hits in the last 90, 30 and 7 days. I decided not to show average per month, it's not work the trouble.  Thank you!
