Anyone know of a way to fix the issue where text labels get cut off on charts?  (field is single select)

Is there a clever way to restrict users from entering $0 in an amount field (from a Stacker form / create new)? I've set up other workarounds where wrong data will bring up a "remove' checkbox with error messaging that will effectively "remove" the entry from the portal if they try to save it ... but in this case, I can only set up conditional visibility if the amount is empty (not less than a number...)

Error message sucks <@U02H5RALT61>, it’s because the option needs to be enabled manually by the support team. Had a similar issue.

Guys, what’s the deal with access to these updates? Is there some sort of sneakret club with a special handshake I need to get down to get access to these? Can’t seem to see any drool worthy new Related Record widget etc. (I do see the collapsible sections though)

<@U02G1V7KTB6> Depends, sometimes new things are hidden under a flag (read: need to be enabled manually by the support team, for each app), and sometimes it just pops alive for everyone (depending on your Stacker version, Classic vs X)

Here, it seems all the new features popped up (at least on X, haven’t checked Classic).
Still haven’t received an official newsletter about the update though.

This is not good code <@U02J3ABJ8G0> as it can break any time. Those css classes you rely on are dynamically generated and destroyed when Stacker make a new release.

Exactly - you’ll need to use nested css selectors for this.

Maybe you could try creating 2 permissions, one where the Role can view all users and the other where the Role can edit only its own record.

Where would I do that logic for the write permission role btw? New to Stacker. :slightly_smiling_face:

How does user access/registration work, generally?

You can enable Permissions under App Settings &gt; Table. You'll essentially need to create Roles. Each role can have different Permissions assigned to them for each Table. Hey all, so I am a bit confused. My use case is that I have a roster of vendors I want to invite to my app to use it, and invite them. Will Stacker do the invitations if I supply the email addresses? Just want to know what the actual end-user onboarding looks like, because these arent App administrators they are users.

<@U02HB45BY78> The way we solve this problem is (1) invite users by email to complete a registration form (in our case we use Typeform, could use an Airtable form). They confirm a few things we need to ensure they are eligible for what we offer, and provide their name, email and company. We send this info to Airtable in a People table - this is the User table for our Stacker users. Their Company record is created in the Company Table. At the end of the form we give them a link to our Stacker app and invite them to register. Once registered they can click on their company name and add data and do things. NB we are using Classic Stacker and I know User management is a little different with New Stacker.

1. Sending custom email with unique sharing link. Manual step is to copy sharing link from stacker and paste that to airtable base
2. Sending customised register emails. I learned that from <@U01QZMEN0CD> from that thread <https://stacker-customers.slack.com/archives/CSMQ6CB7Y/p1632500215210000> important here is to create a delay before sending out an email
For these options above I am using Integromat and Airtable to send out customised emails.

Hi there, is it possible to filter out subsequent select lists based on a previous selection? E.g. if I choose `online` in my selection, the next list option is a filtered list of select options that are applicable to `online` only.
Especially in the case of linked records.

Hey <@U0149RHHMU6>! In Stacker workspaces, there is no longer a 'launched'/'un-launched' app state (as in Stacker classic and previous versions).

Rather, all workspace apps are live during both trial and subscription. So the app limit refers to total apps in the workspace.

One of the things that hooked me with Stacker at the very beginning was the ability to “build” it for free for months, it was definitely a great way to get my product better bit by bit and eventually release it and get paid for it.

Kinda sad that it’s not the way it works anymore, it was a great fit for “makers”.

I would like a way to be able to have access for all the features too and not pay till you actually launch the app. I need this for a sample portfolio app and for trying out paid features for recommending to clients. Though support was kind enough to extend this for me by a month recently. Just check with them

Hi <@U02E83Q2J7M> At the moment you can only select one filed to use as your created by field. It would definitely be useful to have the ability to select multiple fields, I will pass this feedback onto the product team.

Is it the field that stores the Stacker user email?

I think that might be a permission issue on your app, but it’s weird if it was locked and got unlocked on several apps at once.

<@U0146FKFCKE> We are using Classic. It is our primary field, it happened to all primary fields on all apps and tables seemingly overnight. <@U012WD5EDE0> We were able to resolve it from permissions

Hi Ambroise, fields in the header are now editable if you have permission to do so. This change was made recently.

<@U012WD5EDE0> <@U027FF5T0C9> If that cannot be disabled then I dislike this change very much. And I don’t mean disabled through roles, the field should be editable, but not necessarily editable from the header, that doesn’t make much sense in our UX, that’s weird and confusing.

<@U027FF5T0C9> I suggest adding a new “Allow edit” checkbox below the “Heading” input, and disabling it by default, at least for existing apps.

Same question here, this seems like a serious limitation if we can't force a certain timezone.

Dates are formatted according to the user’s locale (via browser settings). This is automatic, and we don’t support copying the Airtable formatting settings yet. Unfortunately, there is not a way to force this in Stacker. Rather, I'd recommend taking a look at the time zone settings for your browser.

Hmm is there a ticket/request open for this?  It’s odd behavior to not just display the time that is listed in Airtable, and it really throughts things off like formulas. See here:

Airtable's time field can render unexpected results based on the field type.  But, you can vote for this feature on our features request board.

In your example, what type are the fields shown in the screenshot? And which one is showing how you'd like?

<@U01ER0XNAV7> - Posting a longer explanation in <#C026T10EBFZ|>, but “event_announce_date” is set to 10AM GMT in Airtable, the “formula_event_announce_date_pretty” is a formula referencing that (so displaying as a string)

you’d expect those to match, but they don’t because Stacker is converting the date-time field (“event_announce_date”) to local time unexpectedly

This looks complicated and to be honest I don’t have the time to fully wrap my head around all of what you are trying to do, but I’m wondering what you have done to establish Roles &amp; Permissions that might support the restricted views you are trying to create, rather than trying to do this with Stacker’s somewhat limited tools for setting conditional visibility within a layout view?  My gut sense is that this should be approached from the relational schema perspective and how you deal with making sure that redundant email addresses do not become problematic in your Stacker Users tables.  And then using Roles and Permissions so that your Verified Suppliers vs Contacts are only getting to the places &amp; records intended for them that way.

At least, that’s what I thought so far. (and that’s why the pricing model doesn’t match your need)

And there is no way to build a “roles and permissions across multiple apps”, each app has it’s own roles and users.

Right now it seems that having to separately define roles and permissions for multiple apps based on user tables within each app, is redundant and adds complexity to rolling out a multi-app solution. And then, unless I’m still confused, when those external customers login, they are only seeing and acting in one app at a time.

Hello, has the Inbox view moved to be accessible for Plus members? Previously it was behind a Pro flag, but it's now become available and we are on the Plus plan.

I agree, it works for one of my fields, but not sure why and others that are the same it doesn't seem to work on. Very baffling.

The fields need to have “Rich text” option enabled on Airtable, too.

Got it working now. <@U0146FKFCKE> was correct. It needs to be "Rich text" format on the Airtable side, and a checkbox needs to be clicked on the Stacker field side. Thanks!

Stacker legends - I’m having a weird one with the Record Header for detail pages. When this initially became available I set some heading and sub-headings to render linked record fields. This is still working fine but after trying to do this again for another detail page it seems linked record fields aren’t available to use as heading / sub-heading. Using linked record fields in the record header is a really neat UX trick for my solution, any ideas why I can no longer use them?
