Thanks Ambroise!, yes but unfortunately I need to display the bolding. It’s a requirement in Australia for displaying food allergies. My app automatically generates it. But trying to display it is becoming problematic! If I disable rich text I wont have the bolding anymore

Looking at your format, it looks like the Stacker Markdown parser doesn’t work as it should, the alternative is for them to fix it. `[Vitamin (Thiamin, Folate)]` shouldn’t be treated as a link, only `[Vitamin](Thiamin, Folate)` should.

<@U02R50CHQ4R>, I’m working on this as well now. Adding custom events seems not to be possible (wanted to add an identifier for external clients), so trying to squeeze what I can with the events that I get.
Also, I was using GA4 directly, not via GTM, because it seems like  Stacker can’t add the script in the exact placed that it’s required by GTM

<@U02RTQSAWAF> I am in the same spot with the GA4. It is pulling stats, it just seems like it isn't working correctly (unless there are that many people visiting the app, which in that case, great). I also implemented Hotjar for some additional tracking to see if the sources compare. Will keep you posted.

From experience, GA and GTM use the same kind of scripts, I don’t see why one would work but not the other :thinking_face:

<@U0146FKFCKE>, in GTM’s config they suggest to put stuff into `&lt;head&gt;` as high as possible, but what I got from StackerHQ support is that `At the moment, there isn't way for us to input code into the head, just the body.` Therefore, we are using GA4 for now directly

Yeah, it's an optimization, not a must have. Should work about the same either way.

<@U0146FKFCKE> possibly, my configuration is similar. Is your role assignment always the first role? My user starts with the role where checkbox is false (the second one in my order). It should then change to where checkbox is true (first one in my order).  The initial role assignment is correct, just doesn't refresh immediately.

If you always specify the checkbox then it’s not an issue.

The issue is when you have 2 rules like:
• role is X
• role is X and checkbox is false
In this case, “role is X” is always true, whether checkbox is true or false, so the second rule is never applied

Ah okay, thats not my case. Mine is;
• ROLE A: checkbox is true
• ROLE B: checkbox is false (this being the default)


Then it shouldn’t be an issue :slightly_smiling_face:

As for the “refresh” latency, I have no idea, but I’m interested to know if it causes any latency :grimacing:

Yeah, There are a lot of caveats when it comes to data sync working for User creation and Roles. It's getting frustrating as even the right configuration doesn't work and then have to chase Support to figure out why.

Hi <@U01QZ40HRFW>. I’m sorry that it feels like you have to chase us—that is not our intention, and we want to do better.

I’d like to give you a bit of background about why getting seemingly straight answers sometimes takes longer than we would want to.

Stacker currently has 2 vastly different major versions, and a few sub-variants. It also allows very complex setups that where you can get to the same place in a few different ways.

In order for us to give you answers, we need to identify at which exact point your setup is, confirm that behavior with development, and then try to find a way that would work for you.

To try finding a way that could work for you, we need to fully understand your setup and what you would like to do. The tricky part is that the constraints you’re looking to get can change depending on many factors.

This is by no means an excuse, but rather a window in the current situation. We got ourselves in it, and we’re working hard to make both our product and supporting you easier.

Looking at the ticket, it seems like we now have means to see the behavior you are seeing for ourselves. We’ll follow up in the ticket as we make progress, and then update this thread so others have an answer too.

Here’s an update:

When you use the built-in edit record button, there should be no lag or delay. This is because we’re automatically getting updated records.

Action buttons—that Ruchika is using—do not have this logic. Because of that, there will be a delay in recognizing the roles until the data syncs.

We plan to add the same logic to action buttons, but this will most likely happen some time in the new year.

If I understand your video correctly, you’re updating a formula field with the action button.

As <@U0146FKFCKE> mentioned, updating a checkbox using an action button has always worked. As in, it has always resulted in an immediate sync with Airtable for that record.
<@U02N890SW84> What I'm taking away from what you said is that while there will be an immediate sync, if the sync results in a Role change that will take time (It seems internally it's handled through related records for this role change?)
As discussed in email, would like to understand whether the role change is delayed regardless of whether checkbox is updated on Action Button or updated through edit.

I never fell into that since most my roles are updated through automations, hence I always suffer from the delay.

Though, I still can't use this because while the Role changes, I need to refresh the browser to see the UX components reflected as per the role :woman-shrugging::skin-tone-4::sweat_smile:. Using a airtable form is one way to go, with an automation that sends an invite link 5-15mn after a user record has been created (Zapier/Integromat)

so there is no “native invitation” anymore? directly from Stacker as it used to be on Stakcer classic?

Nope... Not cool, it’s the biggest regression from Classic.

You can use a single user base for several apps though, since Stacker X supports importing multiple bases.

We’ve halted developing new solutions on stacker until they have sorted this out.

Hi, it takes at minimum 5 minutes to create new user on Stacker. There is no direct automation to send welcome messages to new users

Hello Alan! The way my team has gone about this issue is too to create an Airtable automation that triggers once a user is created on our user table (either via stacker or AT) we send them a “our” version of a welcome email that directs our new user the registration link which would be _*your workspace URL /register.*_ In the email we also indicate the email address that will be used as their User Name which is inline with the email stacker identifies. Hope that helps make your process less tedious!

<@U02G29N5Y9K> I advise not sending the email through AT, but through Zapier instead, so you can use a delay (we use a 17mn delay) to avoid having your user receive the email, attempt to log in, and fail because Stacker hasn’t updated their cache.

That’s what we do and it works seemlessly. But the delay is not always acceptable from a customer point of view. :confused:

Thats ok - but you will need to change the workspace permissions of your app so that not everyone in the workspace has access. Rather you invite each person to each app they need access to.

Alternative is to make all the users app customers and then they create different accounts for each app.

<@U02BB8HKA0Z> Yep. ha. I feel kind of dumb now because I was adding users but the test user I was using, I had forgot that I had added as a workspace user a long time ago to test with.

What would be the tools to beautify it? Seems like the only control we have is custom CSS? :thinking_face:  And that CSS can only be applied to some limited amount of blocks. Let me know if I’m wrong!

And how far has anyone gone with the customization? One thing that I really want to do with a table lists is to group it (i.e. instead of having 1 table, have multiple ones grouped by a specific value, like you can do in airtable). I assume with a good amount of js -  it’s possible.

Yeah, makes sense, unless the whole list is loaded and then it’s split into pages now, which I really doubt.

Actually, what we really really wanted was to change colors for rows with specific cell values. It’s probably possible with custom JS, which I can try to achieve.

I would say we’re 60%-70% there to being fully accessible.

Parts that I can think of that aren’t:
• You can’t fully navigate the app using only keyboard. Menus work, but navigating records is not easily doable.
• We might not fully conform to contrast guidelines in every single place, though it should be good for most of the app.

• The URL of your app
• The user that should see their own record
• Which record and on which page they should be seeing
• Screenshots of your permissions for that page
You might also want to give us support login access so we can go in and take a look.  To do that, click your profile picture -&gt; My Settings -&gt; Support Login, and check the box that says *Enable Stacker to inspect your apps to help troubleshoot if needed*

You can create a faux public link by using the “Shared Link” feature which automatically logs in as the user you chose without prompting a user/pass

Mike’s trick is what I did to give public access to visitors, but it’s a workaround, not really public.

I understand that we should definitely make the full text visible, so I’ve created a <https://feedback.stackerhq.com/feature-requests/p/ability-to-see-the-full-name-of-long-dropdown-items|Canny request> that you can vote on.

In its simplest form, it’s a 2-mn dev time (by adding a “title” attribute).

This should be done everywhere text gets cropped due to lack of space, it’s such a big UX issues for all Stacker projects :confused:

Some of the features you mentioned, like Customers, are from Stacker Classic, so I won’t deal with those at the moment. The newest version of Stacker has:
• Roles
• Permissions
When it comes to users, it has:
• Workspace users (collaborators)
• App users
*Roles* help you set different types of users. Within the roles, you set up basic access rights
• Which pages can the role access?
• Should the role be able to see and modify everything?
You can then set different *permissions* for each table within an app. You can assign a permission scheme to one or multiple roles.

*Workspace users* (collaborators) can add and edit apps, as well as manage the workspace. One workspace user will have access to all non-private apps by default.

*App users* can only add and edit information within the app. You can have a different set of users for each app.

Hope that clarifies the newest permission scheme at least a little bit. If you have any specific questions, I’m happy to answer them.

<@U022US4CCN5> ah, it sounds like you are in that in-between state. We can turn off Customer access for you, or you can use that feature. If you keep the feature, the user model is slightly different then.
