💭 Curiosity question: any of y’all use Matrix? I do and really like it but am always curious why others think. (FWIW, I’m actually using it right now to interact with the IRC room)

@Philippe Beaumont so pdk, where do I start... ages ago Puppet Inc created https://github.com/voxpupuli/modulesync to sync a repo of templates to modules. that functionality is now available as pdk sync/pdk update I think. Vox Pupuli adopted modulesync: https://github.com/voxpupuli/modulesync_config. There was never a reason for us to switch from modulesync to pdk. the syncing works the same work. But I really think that the default configs Puppet provides in pdk-templates are really bad and should not be used. If we don't use them but want to use pdk, we would need to fork and heavily modify their pdk-templates repo. And I do not see a benefit in that, especially for an open source group that consists of volunteers with little time.

@bastelfreak @genebean thanks for the answer. If I ask it, that's because I found pdk useful for testing without installing to much thing on my system (and it's really simple to use it for that).

@bastelfreak Since you use more recent versions of ruby than most... What happens for you if you run
    bundle exec rake strings:generate:reference
    on stdlib?

For me, with ruby 2.7.6 the docs for to_json and to_yaml seem to get screwed up. Seems fine with 2.5.3 though.
