    vm snapshoting in kvm/vmware is done without the old hibernate trick? (remeber somthing von back in the days)

    you freeze the VM, but that doesn't require swap inside the VM

    okay, just remeber this was something like hibernation. also when migrating a vm. but i'm not sure. 😅

    because a simple swapoff -a would be much better to handle then figering out what swap from where and if partion or file to handle 😄
