bastelfreak: though I'm also tempted to go through the Beaker code to see if there's anything else we should remove if we do a major release

I'm tempted to remove the Puppet(labs) specific code, like in https://github.com/voxpupuli/beaker/blob/7727e3a6495868809cd139b453b29062a47bfa05/lib/beaker/host_prebuilt_steps.rb#L238-L265 it would be better to have generic methods that are configure_apt_proxy etc

https://github.com/voxpupuli/beaker/pull/1769 at least is a start to dropping deprecated stuff

Hi all, I am trying to implement the https://github.com/voxpupuli/puppet-network/ module on our new Oracle Linux 9 machines. Unfortunately the module still uses the deprecated /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfgxxxx config. Any chance there is an update or config that I can implement so it uses the newer /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ config?

JFYI: There is maybe a module on GitHub for managing the NetworkManager that could interests you. https://github.com/pixelpark/puppet-networkmanager

hey guys. Regarding the customer issue we're having with pdk that relates to this... the maintainer says they'd be happy with us pulling the code straight into puppet-lint. We would prefer this over the forked gem idea as it seems sensible for puppet-lint to encapsulate all of the core puppet style guide recommendations. Thoughts?

I mentioned in the thread (unsure if you can see on irc) that I could drop the Ruby version again to make things a bit more accessible for v3
