As I've never looked at Github Sponsors: is the full amount sent or are they keeping a percentage?

I think github forwards 100% to opencollective who act as fiscal sponsors for us. They keep 10%. with that they handle all the tax magic, we've the option to submit invoices that they handle, stuff like this

SFC would also taje 10%, SPI only 5%, but both have an... onboarding process I don't like

ah, nice, I was curious how this works out legal/tax wise

opencollective can provide sponsors an invoice, then magic happens and then we get the money

that's very nice of them, and leaving 10% for the fact that we don't need to handle invoices and taxes is very fair IMHO

or: 10% for the fact that we don't need to found an eingetragener Verein / international NGO

but I'm not the right person do manage that

is the foreman project a juristic person?

we just write Red Hat Inc on all incoming invoices ;)

I guess they won't like to pay Vox Pupuli bills since they own Ansible :(

I can ask if adding a recurring sponsorship is something that'd be in scope

The main reason we are doing is because Puppet wants to give us funding, just wasnt possible before

I volunteer for another non profit thing as well, before the legal entity existed the first volunteer was donated some hardware

and he had to pay income tax on that the year after

having streamlined processes for this is pretty useful

yep. we had those in the past. also some our our stuff is paid by my personal account, someting else by daenny

and I want to move that now to org accounts
