nearly did an agent side check in <https://forge.puppet.com/modules/martyewings/ca_expiry_check|ca_expiry_check> but then my focus is always PE and pe_status_checks has a thing now, so i didnt pursue it, could probably knock it up in like 30 mins if its needed

The apprentice i trained to IAC with Puppet is doing now Ansible .

he told me that I trained him well because he had the right concepts of separation of specific (profile) and generic (module) elements. And obviously he was the only one in his team...

anarcat: well, it started as just a repo I could play with to see if it worked on a test server

anarcat: IMHO it's still annoying that I have to pull in the _core modules manually while the 5.x (and AIO) builds had them when I did apt install puppet

anarcat: and the puppet.service → puppet-agent.service rename is also a difference

ewoud: the former sounds like a bug that should be reported

i wonder if we could make it do a Provide of some sort

alternatively, maybe we should stick with puppet.service if that's what upstream does...

okay well, i'd file both of those, i'm sure lavamind would be happy to tweak the package to smooth the transition
