<!channel> is there a reason why I shouldn’t let an employee buy his old work laptop after he leaves the company? any IP or legal issues here?

Hi everyone! I've just joined Ops Stories. My name is Nicola and I head up the Customer Success team at Wagestream - a start-up with a mission to end the cycle of poverty and destroy the pay day loans industry by giving people control of when they get paid - via our app 🙂 I also work with the lovely @adventurous-action-89434. I'm excited to join the group as my background is Sales so I've just made the move to Ops - loving it so far 😉 Look forward to the first meetup!

Hello all, and thanks for having me! I'm Ops Director at Coffee & TV; a VFX, animation and design studio based in Soho www.coffeeand.tv. I joined the company four years ago and was their third employee. Since then we have grown considerably and thankfully I have grown too, learning on the job and often making it up as I go along! I'm looking forward to meeting you all and contributing wherever I can. I'm so pleased to be involved. Thank you @lively-cpu-50767 for the intro!

Hey <!everyone> . We’re organising the UK SportsTech Startup Day on Thursday 25th October as part of our Sports Technology & Analytics Conference UK (www.analyticsinsport.com/uk). We’ve just had our venue partner fall through at the last minute so I’m getting in touch to see if anyone would have any suggestions for potential free or cheap venues in London? The ask would be a space for 20-30 people available from approximately 9.30am - 3pm. Wouldn’t require anything too flash, could be hosted in a company’s client floor. This is some more info about the day: “The 1-day event is designed to facilitate investment, deals, trials and partnerships in the Sports Industry. It will bring together UK & European investors, and sports leagues & clubs, with young and exciting UK startups and innovators in Sports, Media, and Entertainment. The event will include presentations, networking and opportunities for private meetings designed to provide emerging companies with face-to-face time with venture capitalists, investors, clubs and sports leagues. Limited to 30 attendees.” Let me know if you have any thoughts on venues! (Or if you work for a sports tech, analytics or media/entertainment company and want to get involved 🙂 ) Cheers, Thomas

Hey Thomas, I look after Ops and Events at House of Vans in Waterloo- October is a hectic month but we may be able to squeeze you in as the venue will be closed to the public during the times you’ve stated and is line with our marketing strategy as a sports & streetwear brand. Would you require catering & refreshments too? I can run it past the Director and let you know if viable our end? Cheers, Ross

Hi everyone! Thanks so much @quiet-orange-43581 for inviting me to join. I'm Associate Director: International Operations at Bumble, overseeing our business ops outside America (currently covering UK, Europe, Australia and India). Mostly I handle all things Legal, HR and Finance related. In particular I'm focusing a lot at the moment on planning and project managing the setup of teams & entities in new markets, which is fun but often very complicated :) Looking forward to meeting you all at the next event!

Hi everyone! Thank you @quiet-orange-43581 for inviting me to join and @rough-refrigerator-96590 for telling me about this group! I moved to London 6 months ago from Paris and into Ops from a background in consulting and banking so this group is like a dream coming true haha. I am now Head of Ops (but the only Ops person) at Creditspring, an early stage fintech. Looking forward to discuss ops stuff with all of you!

Hello everyone! Thanks to @quiet-orange-43581 for the invite. I run Ops at SPOKE, a direct to consumer menswear brand (we sell trousers on the internet). I'd like to ask a question straight off the bat - does anyone else have responsibility for Culture and if they do can anyone share with me the kind of work they've done?

Hi @kind-noon-60903 - I work at Thriva (d2c blood testing company) and do a lot on culture with our COO. Recently did a project for the founders to help them assess the baseline culture (through JTBD interviews with employees) and identify the core actions needed to improve it. The outputs were a new set of values, new personal budgets and a re-jig of the weekly meetings we run internally. We also now use office vibes for weekly pulse. Happy to share any more details - you can get me on annie@thriva.co Hope helpful!
