Good afternoon all! 👋 Question on support-desks. We currently have everything in-house, but run shifts to cover our operating hours (7am-9pm, 7 days a week). Volume outside of peak hours is low, but it’s still important we cover those hours. I’m interested in learning more about outsourcing those extended hours (evenings and weekends). 💻 Have you experience in this? Know anyone that does? Would love to hear your learnings, tips, and ideas! 💡

Hey all! 🌊 This might be a long shot but has anyone here gone through selecting and implementing a
    lifecycle marketing tool
? I'm helping out our marketing team with tool selection, evaluation and implementation; currently looking at the likes of Braze, Airship, Iterable, Exact Target and a few others. Never done this before (and frankly, tried to be as far from marketing as possible 😅 but that's no longer working...) I'd appreciate any insights/advice/templates/resources when it comes to: 1. Defining our requirements (e.g. do I need to define the to-be customer journey before selecting the tool?) 2. Pulling together an evaluation matrix/framework (any templates? 🙏) 3. Comparison between Braze, Airship, Iterable and Exact Target and any other ones worth looking into... 4. Probably something else that I failed to think about 🤔 Thank you!

Not sure if there is a salary/benefits type channel so sorry if this is in the wrong place … we are thinking of giving a member of the team a sabbatical. Does anyone have a policy on that they can share that applies across the company?? Is it paid? Is there any length of time they need to work after they come back etc etc? Any help much appreciated.

Hi folks, also not sure what the best channel for this is, so if not right, please let me know! I'm looking at rolling out salary transparency in our company where employees also set their own salaries based on knowing the company's financials and getting advice from others. Has anyone done this here? If so, would love a quick chat (or direct me to any material) on how you rolled it out and any processes that should be set up to mitigate risk. Thanks!

Has anyone offered days off to employees by shutting down the company for a day/ month or per quarter to offer a long weekend to employees during these tough times? If so, did you offer extra annual days or did the employees have to take the day from their annual leave allowance? Any feedback/ advice on this will be highly appreciated!

Hello Ops Stories Mates 👋 Operate Co is kicking off its 2nd cohort on June 7th! Applications are open and there are a few more slots available! The cohort meets virtually 3 times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8-10 AM PST) for the duration of the 7-week program. If you ever wanted to learn from top Ops Leaders in the U.S but never had the opportunity too, well the time has finally come and Operate Co wants to provide you that access. Check out our home page to get a sneak preview of some of our guest speakers! About Operate Co. • Operate Co is a 7-week training program + lifetime community of startup operators looking to help each other level up their careers. It is the best parts of an MBA without the time or the cost. • By joining a cohort, you’ll leave with a built-in community of 20+ peers who want to help propel you to success, and a new toolbox of mental models, frameworks, and software training in key ops disciplines (like project management, strategic planning, and organizational behavior) • If your company gives you an education stipend, this could be a good way to put it to use. If you are at all intrigued, please feel free to set up time with me and I would be happy to talk to you more about the community that I am building. Apply Here is you are interested or if you have questions, feel free to ping me directly! Cheers mates!

Hello everyone, I know some of you have platforms that enables coaches, therapists and other independent freelancers to find clients or go to market with their service. Question: How do you manage payment and determine their rates? Context: I’m not going to build anything like it or join a company who does this, I’m looking to become a consultant/coach on a platform that would offer my services to their users. Understanding the business model better helps me to plan my time better, understand what I’m committing to and consider my rates better. Please feel free to DM me, I’m aware this could be sensitive information. So discretion is something I’m aware of, but I’d love to have more insights on how your model works. Thank you 🙇‍♂️

Hi all- I'm putting together a staffing plan which includes benefits, compensation, training, salary guidelines, etc. Are there any good resources on this anyone can recommend? Or companies that example this well? I'm getting loads from Maria's PeopleOps Notion (https://www.notion.so/PeopleOps-Content-d11a2204193f49a39d8a63ae9d8b6126) and the Benchmarking survey (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ODmlBTQW9NOp_mFFCu9-xW8fqQuCDe2d1sNrg_2Sjus/edit#gid=0) and would love more recommendations!

Hi all, I wanted to highlight @rough-baker-68202’s previous post re: the Operate Co Program. I'm a member of the current cohort, which wraps up this week and it's been a really valuable experience for me as someone looking to hone their skills as a generalist / Operator and expand my ops network. I've really enjoyed the combination of lecture-style sessions with industry leaders and our more intimate "war rooms" and playbook creation sessions because you have the opportunity to put theory to work and create tangible outputs you could then implement in your workplace. I really enjoyed my time and wanted to give Fadi and the program a shout-out! If you have any questions or want to learn more, let me know 🙂

Hi all and happy blustery Friday!🍃 💨 We are looking for a temporary office space between 21 June and end of September. We're speaking to brokers and have that side covered but I wondered whether anyone had an office space they still weren't using and wanted to sublet for a bit of extra 💷? We need space for 10-15 desks ideally plus break out / meeting room space. Please DM me if this could be relevant!

Good morning All. I have joined Lick Home (the paint company) as head of international 🌎. We are looking to expand across the USA and Europe and I would love to speak to anyone here (or a colleague) with international expansion experience. The two big things I need to tackle are a fulfillment partner in the US and Europe🚐 and growth experience launching a brand internationally. If you think of anyone please let me know and I will get in touch! 👍

Hi everyone, Have recently moved from Strategy and Ops into a pure Product role for a healthtech company. I have found the peer support in Ops Stories so valuable and looking to find some likeminded people in product to share challenges and experiences in a similar way. If anyone knows any Product Managers in their company who have the same ethos as we have in Ops Stories - open, friendly, engaged and pay it forward mindset- and who might be interested in joining a group like this for Product it would be great to get an intro.

Hello everyone, We have an ongoing issue in our company, we really struggle to get the wider business (people outside operations) to engage with or even initiate some of the operational changes or growth objectives that we have underway. We have tried emails, Teams messaging, and discussing them in meetings. But, we just never can get any enthusiasm, or often even any responses.    Question for the group, What communications or engagement strategies have people used to get staff members engaged or enthusiastic about operational initiatives?

Hey everyone! We're seeing an increasing number of instances where users claim they haven't received a high value order/claim they returned a high value item but we haven't received it. Some of these claims looks very obviously like fraud, but it's difficult for us to prove this or know how best to handle them (we don't want to accuse anyone if they're being genuine!) I've also found it difficult to find info on what we can and can't do legally in these situations. Does anyone have any experience of tackling this type of fraud?
