Hi all 👋 A team that’s 100% remote is one thing, but with offices soon to open up we’ll be moving to a hybrid model in which the office is open at reduced capacity should people want to go. That means meetings in which half the people are in the same office, and half remote, and other challenges. How are you preparing for the hybrid/flexible approach? What companies have been doing this for ages and nailing it? What’s been some valuable learnings? Hi all, we are a small-ish start up, 25 ppl in London, 50 people in Macedonia. We currently have 1 in-house Corp IT member who deals with everything remotely atm, but they are leaving soon so we are thinking about outsourcing. Would be great to know if anyone outsources and can recommend companies, or if it ends up being expensive so you deal with things in house?

Similar to @thousands-quill-47063's post, does anybody have any good recommendations for outsourced development agencies? Last time I asked it yielded iTransition, Sofomo, Ciklum and Dataart, but wondered if anybody knew of any others that they'd recommend?

Very quick question (helping out a Spanish based startup): When selling a solution to English speaking markets/clients (i.e. the UK) - how important and do you think (if at all) the product voice needs to be native vs. with an accent? Have a listen to 10 sec here: I have mixed feelings about this (mainly because I’ve only come across American or English product voice but also part of me feels having authenticity is part of company’s identity). Anyway would love to get some more consensus from here! Thank you!

Hi everyone! Can anyone help with shipping to the US? Specifically we are having trouble with our larger shipments to major customers being held up at customs for the ‘tax ID’. Essentially because we’re not a US organisation we don’t have a US tax ID, but these larger customers (e.g. Bloomingdales) don’t want to allow us to use their Tax ID in case it shifts any liability for the goods when in transit. Complicated…. We’ve had to use a US connection’s tax ID as a placeholder, but really want a long term solution. Appreciate any help available!

Hi all, hope everyone is safe and well. I was wondering if anyone has set up a Project Management Office (PMO) function from scratch and if so, what was useful to make it a success? I’ve been tasked with setting one up and not really sure where to start. Are there any areas of the company that are kept out of scope, are there any tools that are particularly useful? I understand there’s 3 main qualifications that are relevant to setting up and running projects under a PMO: Prince2 Agile, P3O and MSP, each providing something different. Is it worth doing them all, or focusing on one? Proper project management as a concept is pretty new to the company lol so any and all nuggets are welcome 🙏 thanks in advance!

There's so much awesome info, advice and tips shared in this community. However, because we're on Slack's free plan (even the cheapest subscription is too pricey), conversations move quickly, and - let's admit - we're all often too busy to read everything, a lot of helpful information gets lost on us. We want to change that. We thought it'd be awesome to have an Ops Stories Wiki full of resources that all of us in the community could contribute to and benefit from, and it's something we've talked about with @orange-microphone-89386 and @average-engineer-68305 at length, before realising how complex this project could be. So now we're going back to basics which is...taking small steps 🙂 and building a V1 which we could iterate/build on when the time comes. That first step is Ops Stories monthly roundup email.
