No, I would prefer if the game were intuitive.

The Deepwood stuff isn't even true to the game's own core tenant of keeping secrets secret. You have to mill through the deck and see all kinds of stuff that could happen in the deepwood just to find the card you need to place.

Is that the core tenant? It seems to me about exploring ways to represent an big narrative and epic battles. The deepwood phase is gameplay as narrative.

I don't see how you can deliver 2 entire boxes of secrets with a dozen sealed envelopes or receive that and then say secrecy isn't a core tenant of the game.

Pretty easily, in the same way a story can have a pleasing twist but be equally good with spoilers. Secrets are hit sauce for the perverts who like that much spice.

just in case people were wondering if they can ignore enemy activation by killing multiple scar tribe on the same turn

"Q. If I break multiple HP with a single attack and I remove the last HP die will I draw a reaction for the second to last Die I broke? A. Yes, This die causes a reaction but the last one does not. The enemy will perform that reaction then immediately die"

hope you drew the one reaction card from stage 2, and one reaction from stage 3 before the game ended then 🙈

Also it's impossible to kill a member of the tribe and knock them back into another enemy, as when the enemy dies the turn of the player ends, losing the rest of the ability card (including the knockback part), and a reaction should be drawn instead.

Just checking, just reached the encounter here so I'm not looking at the rest of the posts to avoid any spoilers on attacks etc. All the enemies are marked as having core locations only. Am I right in saying then that cards that specify targeting the rear or front etc won't get their bonuses? Similarly, what about a front or rear arc? I think that they still have those?

everyone in the game has their sides and I would say you should get the bonus still

otherwise some bosses would just negate some cards

or for example Cur would have terrible time if enemies didn`t have rear

If you specifically must strike the flank, you won't get those bonuses. However, if you need to be in the flank to get the bonus you can still do that. The facing arcs still apply to single hex models.

No, its why you still check facing if smaller figures. The 4 side hexes are flanks and the rear one is the rear. (Brought to you by the department of redundancy department.)

No reason you couldn't. That's a great idea if you want a variant on how the Exile looks.

Yeah, I don't really like his pose. It works for dual axes, but not really for other weapons like great sword. I wanted Conan the barbarian look with great sword, but it just looks akward in that jumping pose.

if you popped the parts then the player who did the dmg would be the target. Also if they were the last one's alive you would have needed to draw two phase 3 cards and resolved them one after the other ⚰️

Only Chieftan survived, because he is the only one with 2 location dice. So only he targets the person that broke the location, other bosses taget normally. There were 3 of them left.

ohhhh, so you killed two and popped one part on the chieften, with 3 scar tribe still alive. Yeah so 3 reaction cards on the same turn, from phase 2 brutal. And all 3 reaction cards made by the chieften and the two that died would be against the character who broke the parts, as per the game FAQ ruling by Shadowborne Games: "Q. If I break multiple HP with a single attack and I remove the last HP die will I draw a reaction for the second to last Die I broke? A. Yes, This die causes a reaction but the last one does not. The enemy will perform that reaction then immediately die" This would mean that the two Scar tribe that you killed would both activate from 2 of the cards drawn, and ignore one (from their own death), and then die. So all in all, the character who popped the parts would cop 7 activations, 3 from the Pack Leader, and 2 each from the other two. (unless there is some rule i am missing?)
