I'll hold off on 7.1 for now. Next step is to rerun tools install. Now what happens is I see 2 display adapaters (VDA one and WIndows default) then again it does the hardware update and shows the Iris Pro, and then a few seconds later hard resets.

I have never heard it hard reset ever even if I got it wrong

2 vcpu (2 socket 1 core) and 4gb RAM is what I have assigned

Been banging at it all day... same results every time. I add the vGPU, it boots fine and lets me log in. Then after a bit it detects the hardware change, switches to the Iris Pro, spikes both CPUs to 100% and hard resets. After the rest it spikes to 100% every time after logon and I cannot get the graphics drivers to install.

How about at the BIOS level... other than the Aperture what do others have the graphics memory set for?

@User I just use the Intel detection tool and it downloads them

mmm intel detection tool? but you will have to assign the GPU first

If I can't get this figured out by tomorrow I guess I'll try 7.1 upgrade hoping maybe it's something with my install

@User If you find anything let me know, I'm baffled. I've tried it every way I can but the minute I attache the vGPU I've written a death sentence for the VM 😉

What do you get if you run nvidia-sme on the VM itself?
  • u

    user

    02/23/2017, 9:51 PM
nvidia-sme? With or without the GPU enabled?
  • u

    user

    02/23/2017, 9:52 PM
    (and what is nvidia-sme?)
  • u

    user

    02/23/2017, 9:59 PM
That's the NVIDIA app that you can run on your VM to show if the driver is loaded OK. You are running an NVIDIA GPU or is this the built-in Intel GPU? If so, ignore all this!

The GPU shows up OK in XenCenter though right?
