@User is XS7 all patched up. I saw something similar before I had all the patches installed. Also XS needs to be licensed.

@User you must patch 100% inXs 7 up to like 27

You need a full XS core license or XD/XA platinum license for XS to use

I am assuming this is the skull canyon

Skull canyon, 100% patched thru 27. Fully licensed using our CTP license which is Platinum. The minute I remove the GPU the VM functions perfectly, the minute I add it after login at the console it goes to 100% and locks. At the login screen it's very low utilization.

@User What is showing up in the gpu tab, does it tell you 7gpus or only pass thru

Also are you using the vnc console to access it or Remote Desktop

@User it shows the 7 GPUs and the VM consuming one of them. VNC console, I can't get the Remote Desktop to connect when it is assigned.

Hmm if you're seeing the 7 gpus then that's correct for the core elements

Reading your post did you install xen tools post adding the vgpu
  • u

    user

    02/23/2017, 12:17 PM
    I have never done that

I have only seen it pegged out in my setup once and that was a bad install of the xen tools because I added the vgpu before the tools were fully installed correctly I.e. Full reboots and shutdowns before adding the vgpu

I truthfully don't remember what order I did them in... vGPU and then tools or the other way around.

So maybe I will retry the tools installs. I can't do it with the GPU added because I can't do anything once the CPUs peg 😉. And I can't install the graphics driver at all.

The order I do it is OS, XSTools, full reboot, full shutdown, add Vgpu

I think if you add the gpu before the tools it tries to use the Microsoft basic vga driver and pegs it

Ahhh so maybe that's where I went wrong. Let's see what this clean one does.

If the tools are properly installed is there a way to tell? All I see is the Citrix XenServer Windows Management Agent

Not really that I know of but reinstalls can't hurt

It's cool that it's a silent install and all but... hard to know when it's done 😉
  • u

    02/23/2017, 12:46 PM
Agree that's why I stick to a full reboot and shutdown post install
  • u

To make sure it's fully finished

Ok.. so I seem to be making progress but apparently the Intel driver I downloaded isn't the right one. Keeps saying the computer doesn't meet the specs to install. What driver are you using
