So what should I buy @User @Jarian Gibson So for my Automation Framework Master Class I do have calculated 500GB disk and doing UniDesk shared storage through iSCSI to Synology.

I love my synology. I just wouldn't buy one at the moment knowing the issues. I looked for a long time before I bought mine. Synology seemed to have the most features/functionality for my personal/lab use. Normally I would recommend it immediately but with the issue it probably isn't a good buy

Keep in mind using a nas for VHS, especially unidesk is going to be a nightmare for performance unless you get past the single nic on the nucs

So far, I haven't got much better throughout using bonded USB nics. I think it is my network st the moment though

So would it be better to upgrade local storage from 500 to 1TB then share the storage on the NUC Locally?

I'm going to order my stuff today, worried about the NUCs selling out, the price is 22% off on 6th Gen

I'll try the new UniDesk scenario in my lab, guess I'll go with 1TB internal and bring my home Synology 415 just for the course and now

@User probably a good choice. you could also (miss)use atlantis ce for nas or setup a virtual freenas.

@User i think bonding will only help if you have multiple connections to your target https://labratshq.slack.com/archives/general/p1487341268002010

@dready: @Jarian Gibson just sent Ruben an email for recommended setup, thinking dedicated NUC for Atlantis SDS, he already have a 4 node NUC setup. For now I'll just load my NUC with XPEnology and bring it with me to US with files & media. So a NAS is out of the cart for now, SDS is the future:-)

@dready I have LACP enabled on the switch and in XS. That should allow increased throughput, should it not?

@dready A quick and dirty explanation is that a single line of communication using LACP will not split packets over multiple interfaces.
