Main thing to worry about with xeon d and noise and airflow

The Xeon D is nice. I'm trying to figure out how to isolate a network so I can build out my AD. The XenServer vswitch isn't working very well for me.

What is issue?

Other option is use sce200 case and xeon d build

I did a custom xeon d build with sce300 case

I like the Xeon d stuff and agree smaller case is better but the noise was my issue there

Noise was not an option for men being backstage of Citrix Events if it could be heard in the crowd

Those mini 1u cases they don't have CPU fan and the fans do dial down

Air flow is front to back

I put extra fan in both of mine

Was thinking about airlflow channel for case

Channel would be good but is it possible in something that small

Was looking at them but my worry is spof on backplane/storage path

I found a great way to install/uninstall cage nuts without buying a tool or having to get rackstuds. Just wear mechanics glove. Can't believe I didn't think of that before. The tips may get sacrificed but your fingers will be fine. Check how scary close the lip of a shelf comes to touching the equipment below it. These are vented 16" depth shelves made by StarTech. Very precisely made. I have 4 installed so far and all have the same tolerances.
