I use APC, for expensive equipment use pure sine wave https://www.jasonsamuel.com/home-automation-internet-of-things-iot-cheat-sheet/#Power_backup

Will try to daisy chain a 2nd T-Link PoE switch to the 2nd port of a AP Pro

Agree regarding sine wave being way "healthier" for your units than the cheaper and "harsher" square wave power that cheaper units deliver. Also look for an automatic passthrough feature if the battery itself fails, which some units cannot do.

My bad... They're not referring to Enhanced Linked Mode, which was always supported (apparently)

VCSA upgrades are always a miserable experience for me, never goes well. Either complete failures or 503 Service Unavailable errors post upgrade. I'm considering just rebuilding VCSA from scratch. Anyone else run into similar issues?

Depends on the step up. I’ve done updates within the same version without problem. Going from one version to the next can be problematic. Though I did earlier this year do 6.5 to 6.7 without problem. 6.0 to 6.5 was a new build and swing though as the upgrade never was quite right.

Thanks @User, that goes right in line with what I’m seeing from this weekend. Attempted a 6.0 to 6.5 upgrade three times (restored from backup after each failure and tried little variations). No dice. Looks like it’s going to be a clean 6.5 then. Veeam support with 6.7 U1 is not available yet so thinking staying on 6.5 for a bit is the safe option.

@Jason Samuel never had issues 🙂. Oh wait... just once because the password expired 🙄 but that was solved quite fast

We had the same re: 6.0 to 6.5... similarly ended up with a new build/swing. 6.5 to 6.7 was as well.

All for at least 60% more than the previous generation of Mac Minis cost. 🙄

Hey @Jarian Gibson or @Dave Brett or anyone else for that matter. Is it the E200 or E300 that can take the graphics card? And has anyone tried a P4 in it?

Either can if order parts and build. The case the e300 comes in with the 16x riser.

I have not tried with P4 because I don’t have one but tried with wx4100.

Ok great thanks. I will definitely have to get the larger power unit and I might go with the e300 given I don’t have to put this one in a bag this time 😀

Trying to compare Ubiquiti Unifi USG vs. EdgeMax Router 6P. Looks like feature-wise they are similar, just that management of the EdgeMax is contained to the device itself unlike Unifi line. Is that a correct assumption? Looking to replace home router/firewall and trying to figure out which is the better route to go. Any help is appreciated.

EdgeMax does have its own centralized management now.

If you want router, WiFi, and switches under same management that’s UniFi.

I am more worried about the security side and security features if there is a difference between the two or if they are mostly the same

Mostly the same. EdgeMax usually has new features before UniFi. UniFi usually gets them in later update.
