YOU are looking for 1 job, but a recruiter would have multiple positions to close with tens/hundreds of candidates potentially in the mix. So, the recruiter owes you - NOTHING. Make it easy for them to recruit you. How? Read on... β€’ Unless someone has nearly 0 leads or loads of free time, they will probably not look at your LinkedIn profile. (Good recruiters are likely to have leads, especially for more regular roles and skills and ZERO free time) β€’ So, use the 'About me' to write 1-2 lines about who you are - make it interesting and fun (and relevant... no one wants to know if you can remain standing even after 12 drinks, but they want to know how you can contribute) β€’ Include the standard information listed above. Keywords are important. If this channel sees 10-15 messages in a day, your message might get buried deep within and never be seen. Use keywords for skills, sectors, and relevant information. Again, recruiters get lots of spam and may not be able to respond. Instead, work on this over 15-20 days. Identify some recruiters who hire people like you. Try to interact with them on LinkedIn, or introduce yourself on DM. (Sliding into people's DMs is perfectly fine as long as you are being professional, interesting, and non-creepy/stalkerish) β€’ Keep your own LinkedIn feed clean. Avoid engaging with fake news, bigotry, or propaganda. (It would look terrible if you are applying to a company known for its inclusive policies but they see you commenting crap on a post about women's rights. Also, if you actually believe discussions on women's rights and inclusion aren't a good idea, I have no words for you.) With that, hope this helps and good luck!
