Stacker Customers

One suggestion is to use the new zapier integration. Not tried it myself yet but thinking that adding a new record in AT could trigger a Zapier web hook that instantly adds record to Stacker. I use this for another platform so should work.

Or another tip I noticed recently. Because stacker urls are predictable, I have created an AT formula that gives me the url, then pings into slack when a new record created in AT. Clicking on this link instantly pulls the record from AT it seems.

So a few potential options!

You’d use view conditions in Stacker.

Dropdown = Option A, Option B

If user chooses Option A, display a linked table dropdown for Table A

If user chooses Option B, display a linked table dropdown for Table B

It doesn't scale with 50 states!! any ideas on how?

i would think this is a common use case...

to close this thread for anyone looking in the future — It sounds like this is, indeed, a Stacker bug.  They logged it.

Is native chat the "Activity" feature? It was promising but, alas,I have had trouble using it effectively.

<@U02N890SW84> a challenge for us with the Activity tab was that our admin users wouldn't be automatically notified (say via email or Slack) when a user posted in it unless we actively subscribed. Not sure if that's been fixed since we last tried.

<@U02FFUNTK18> Thanks for sharing. We still don’t automatically subscribe admins to all threads, but we do notify them if they are tagged. The reason for not automatically subscribing is that we thought the amount of emails would be overbearing.

How many emails would you expect to get daily in your use case?

We would certainly get a high volume, but it would be useful to have those notifications somewhere, otherwise the risk was missing notifications and not responding to time sensitive messages.

Sorry I dropped off of this for a while. My app requires a lot of back and forth communication between users. We have the concept of notes built in... which is cool... but the activity feature is actually what I would like to use, or a version of it.

Right now, you have to know the @user's name, there is no notification, and there can be weirdness depending on permissions as to who can communicate with whom.

Ultimately I would like a direct messaging capability to send from user to user, and to be able to limit who can talk to who.

• The one we built. It is not 100% perfect but it does have read + write access. I would recommend this one to you.
• Integration that goes through Fivetran, read-only.

Not sure there’s any need to go to (and pay for) Zapier. Airtable Automations can do this.

<@U0393AW3D37>, is your question about how to get the proper Stacker URL? Because they all follow a specific format where there’s a base URL for the part of your Stacker implementation that you’re on and then the Airtable Record ID appended to the end. Go look at some Stacker pages and you’ll see what I mean.

So knowing the correct format, you could assemble the Stacker URL you want in Airtable and email that out with an Automation. Make sense?

I created it in stacker. It did not seem to be visible in stacker for a few minutes.

OK to reiterate, it looks like my test was successful as an admin. When I view as a user and test creating a record, it does not immediately appear in Stacker. When i refresh the data source (airtable) it will appear so i ruled out the permissions being an issue

If you’re using linked fields, please note that the user needs update access for the linked field on both the Users table and the target table.

I've got a feeling it's because the URL by stripe ends up changing into a session URL, so it's trying the load the new URL and going nowhere. Stripe seems to be saying nope. In other words, it seems like the redirect it is trying to do won’t work in this iFrame.

I’m looking at this <https://stripe.com/docs/payments/payment-links|Payment links article> now and trying to understand if or how your link is different to the one they are generating

It seems to be the same link. I just created a payment link using our Stripe and it’s not loading.

Is it possible to create multiple pages from one data source?

Right now we have one database with all records (pending, approved, complete). We'd like to create a page that reflects only Pending and approved records and a second one with complete.

that way users log in and are directly shown what's on there "to do list". then when its done, it moves off and appears in the complete page.

actually you should be able to via javasccript, but it’ll be a little complicated

there’s a variable stored in the local storage that is the logged in email address

My assumption was also no, but figured I’d ask. Injecting JS scares me more than it might be worth

App A is an updated Stacker Classic app which has slightly different features. You can read more about the differences in our <https://support.stackerhq.com/hc/en-us/articles/4410353520403-Updating-from-the-old-version-of-Stacker-to-the-new-version-of-Stacker|help article about the update>.

App B is a new Stacker app. The default mode of User registration there _is_ User list only.

The Open Signup toggle on App B lets you enable Open signup while keeping the User list. This means you could both add users to the user list, and allow them to sign up themselves.

In other words, there’s no need to toggle between two modes on App B, as User list is always active.

<@U02N890SW84> Ah, I see. Follow up issue - We did enable open sign up for App B in user settings, but when redirected to the registration weblink, one cannot register/create a new account. Only applicants that are found in our imported Users are allowed to set up their account in using the login link.

How would we go about allowing both open signup/registration and login ability for imported Users via an airtable table?

Permissions in Salesforce Tables / Data

Am I doing this right? I've connected an airtable user list containing user names, emails and Unique Account ID used in Salesforce.

I am trying to set permissions to allow users to only see records connected to their accounts.

Using the salesforce bet app, I add a column to the accounts table connecting it as follows and then setting the permissions in the image below.

Can't seem to get it to work
