Any guide to use AWS RDS instead of statefulset DB ?

Hi team, we're evaluating RudderStack to stream data from Mixpanel to PostgreSQL. The initial sync was running for a few hours, exporting roughly 230K events, and then it failed with the error:

events: Get "......": read tcp 127.0.0.1:39206->127.0.0.1:8092: read: connection reset by peer.

It will be great to please have your inputs on the following: 1. Is there any way for us to troubleshoot why this issue happened and fix it? 2. The "Billing info" section in the app now shows that we used 230K events out of 500K on the free plan, so if the next sync will fail again (it's currently running) we're out of credits for this trial, but nothing was really transferred, so we can't really evaluate the product capabilities. Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

We do not use any S3 destination (nor source). I didn't specify any AWS credentials. Will it still try to backup events on S3 reguardless? I do not see any place to put a region in the config anyway: https://github.com/rudderlabs/rudderstack-helm/blob/master/values.yaml Thoughts?

We have a json formatted field in the event to be sent to Redshift. Of late this event field is greater than 512 characters, so the column in RS is getting truncated. So I tried manually setting the RS column type to be

varchar(max)

. Rudder didn't complain, but now the data is formatted as

map[email:<mailto:foo@yahoo.com|foo@yahoo.com>]

instead of

{"email":"<mailto:foo@yahoo.com|foo@yahoo.com>"}

. Any ideas on how to get json data in RS > 512 char? I see there is a pseudo config var in https://github.com/rudderlabs/rudder-server/blob/28b40aa59ac4ac60e2256c8eb4c3939651392d78/warehouse/redshift/redshift.go#L64 - but that cannot be set
