Which brought me to the idea of starting a book club on some themes of philosophy, business etc topics where we can share our top learnings and keep each other accountable for constantly reading, learning and most importantly, implementing it and taking action Would keep a simple biweekly or monthly quick call format on a Saturday or mid-week afternoon where one can share our thoughts/learnings etc Let me know if anyone is interested - will set things up

As long as the call are not on a weekend evening, Iโ€™m game! May be each week a few people can give an outline about the stuff theyโ€™re reading and what they think about it. Would make these call really interesting.

Yeah, just a fortnightly (once 2 weeks) or 1 month is enough to kick-start and yes, weekend evenings - strict no ๐Ÿ™‚ Weekend afternoon or a wednesday/thursday afternoon and we might have to check timezones if folks are traveling too, quite flexible with that and want to start with just a small 15-20 min call with 3-5 mins sharing per person

Some of us already started something similar. But instead of a "book club", it's a "learning club".

We've been doing occasional calls on Saturday 15:00 IST. Does that time work for you? @swift-pilot-25722 @dry-waitress-7852 Weekday evenings don't work for many (since not everyone has flexible hours). That's the reason I have never joined RI hangout on Friday evenings. ๐Ÿ˜„

Likewise, very hard for me to make it to the RI hangouts, Iโ€™m okay with Saturdays.

@acceptable-flag-71699 joined your communities - but is it strictly about "Learning" and the "Art of learning" only - because the book club would be more than that actually - depending on the interests of the group - you have to look at life holistically here - I'm picking Top books in Business, Relationships, Health (My Top 3 pillars) and condensing them into Action steps/goals/daily habits that we can do every damn day.

@swift-pilot-25722 No, people are learning what they want to learn. In fact, I too am pursuing all the core skills (learning, thinking, health, relationships, wealth etc). Since learning is a crucial meta-skill, some of us are reading up on that. But others are pursuing their own projects.

That pointer about life skills is a rabbit hole for me. ๐Ÿ˜„ IMHO, a good life is about becoming stronger and using that capacity to have fun. Those capacities have 4 major dimensions: health, wealth, relationships and wisdom. One can then apply survival analysis / calculus of variations model to derive some heuristics : like how should you change your investment - wealth, time etc - as you grow older,
