if you’re moving from /etc/network/interfaces, beware of DHCP client ID changes, which will cause the assigned address to change, and the DNS record would need to be manually deleted to remove the old client ID. I had to go through this when upgrading from Ubuntu 18.04 to 20.04 anyway due to a change in the way /etc/network/interfaces uses dhclient, so I made the move to systemd-networkd at the same time

that depends a bit on the DHCP server I think

Ok, we had a lot of logic around interface management that we may end up just needing to convert into a template that can be used by the puppet-systemd/network part. I do like that it is a higher level, os agnostic way to configure these, just more than I hoped to get into, but c'est la vie 😛

this weekend I played with installing my new router (https://www.hardkernel.com/shop/odroid-h3-plus/) and wanted to provision it with Foreman, so that was some fun

I tried using httpboot instead of tftp, but it took me a while to figure out why it didn't work

I got two of https://wiki.radxa.com/Rock5/5b/getting_started last week and I currently setup a new puppetserver/foreman for them :D

it refused HTTP and wanted HTTPS, but that message flashed so fast that it was hard to read

are there arm builds for foreman?

no, not for a long time

mostly that we don't have builders

we're moving from our own Koji to Copr and there we can actually build for aarch64 so perhaps we can revive it
