I'd also like to get the beaker 4.40 release out to unblock puppet 8: https://github.com/voxpupuli/beaker/pull/1799 I'm hopeful that we'll be able to move puppet 7 and 8 over to beaker 5 sooner rather than later, but it'll take some time.

we also need to do aome more work to get beaker 5 production ready

here beer is sometimes called liquid bread, so as long as you're limited to solid bread you should be safe

@Yury Bushmelev We are using the module (while also developing) to set up a k8s cluster at a customer. @Robert Waffen made it working even with containerd and cilium.

ananace did great work on the type/provider part which allows one to handle kubectl and kubeconfig.

I'm personally running a couple of clusters using it at various places, three with Calico and one as close as 'plain' as our Puppet environment supports.

Still need to clean away the old code for hyperkube and using docker as the runtime though, since those haven't been supported for quite a while at this point

atm it works for me setting up a plain cluster with containerd and then adding cilium externally. i'm thinking about how/if to add cilium to puppet-k8s. maybe as a task or something. thonk

Unfortunately a lot of the alternative network layers are quite difficult to install in a desired-state-friendly manner, it's the exact same with Calico in that regard.

Kube-router could've probably worked, but I think that project is waiting a full rewrite against XDP at this point

yeah, mostly with this k8s stuff you throw a bunch ob very long yamls at the cluster and wish for the best. more elaborate users use helm which encapsulates the long yamls in some shorter yamls ^^ ... im not good with k8s yet, but this is my view on this topic atm XD
