given that hetznwe uses packer ans cloudinit to build their own images, they could also just provide an imagea for us :D

I think freebsd interest declined across their customer base :(

I self hosted all my services before moving where I live now, and searched for some FreeBSD hosting, found Hetzner, subscribed, feared because I could not find FreeBSD in the system drop-down list, was happy when I saw the ISO tab, happier when I saw that the versions where quite recent, and never looked again at this since ~4years.

So maybe the cost of impelmenting this is not worth it for them.

I could have saved like 20mn in 4 years and counting…

for dedicated servers, they offered a freebss live/rescue system to bootstrap the serves. I think thats discontinued now
