    nope, and you can use a daemon on EL7 as well but we missed that when el6 → el7 happened

    you can set tftp:daemon true on EL7 and provided you do the migration, pretty sure that works

    simp/tftpboot works on both EL7 and EL8 and should have compliance mappings bulit-in if you're interested in that.

    I'd still prefer to use the real services instead of xinetd, other than that I wouldn't mind merging modules

    https://tickets.puppetlabs.com/browse/SERVER-2539 during the last core office-hours we collected some ideas for speeding up pluginsync (which is a requirement for syncing custom datatypes which is a requirement for using them in deferred functions). I collected the different ideas we had. If you've some thoughts please comment.
