I'm considering trying to make a small update to the prometheus module to add bsd support for the node_exporter install (just as a starting point) as there are quite a few BSD instances that node_exporter would be useful in, firewall appliances etc would this be welcomed as it's ignoring the core functionality of prometheus - which is install prometheus

I'm torn on if it's something that should be done ?

bastelfreak: really ? seemed a bit naughty, purpose of prometheus is to install prometheus, I'm making a change to one exporter because I feel it's the most common and there would be value

I'm happy to have a go, just felt 'odd' to not do the thing the module was designed to do

the module already installs like 30 exporters

but I'd only be adding support for BSD to one, the most common one admittidly

thats how it started for arch linux as well

and alowly it grows
