    which requires you backporting ruby 3.x

    that's odd, https://rubygems.org/gems/sorted_set only specifies >= 2.3.0 and https://rubygems.org/gems/rbtree only specifies >= 1.8.6 (though I have a tough time believing that)

    even worse, the website it lists is on rubyforge.org which no longer exists …

    anarcat: I'm far from up to date on Debian packaging, but isn't that version 3 generated from https://sources.debian.org/src/ruby-rbtree/0.4.4-1/debian/control/ so if you'd do a source build, it'd be 2.7+?

    that's possible

    point is you'd need to backport the whole tree

    it's three packages, so it's not so bad

    but it's not as easy as just backporting the agent

    indeed, not as easy: building ruby-sorted-set has a dependency on ruby-set but that's not available it seems

    Is anyone interested in facilitating a Puppet/Vox hackday for https://hacktoberfest.com?

    anarcat: so I took a stab at it and created https://ekohl.nl/debian/ but the first thing I notice is that the *_core modules aren't bundled nor dependend on, though I do see https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/puppet-module-puppetlabs-cron-core exists

    anarcat: is the user expected to install those manually?

    TIL: anchor is actually part of stdlib and not core Puppet

    anarcat: where do you prefer to get feedback? because I found that the vendormoduledir still points to /opt and more importantly: it doesn't appear to be loading custom types - they are synced but then not loaded

    that reminds me, some dat I should finish https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppet/pull/8636 so both Debian and Fedora packaging use the same paths
