so, the answer to "would you like to save" isnt "yes" or "no" its "yes, i would like to save" or "no, i wouldnt like to save"?

    It's "I would" or "I wouldn't"

You can word things a bit weirdly and phrase every question as a yes/no question, which lets you get away with just 'I do' and 'I don't', but that's awkward and tends to be too long to fit

Except when you have to fill in a different set of verbs for every dialogue in your app

so if you say "do you want to save?" you could end up with a button that legitimately means "do not want"

    Yes

    Well

You would word that as "Ydych chi am gadw (yr ... hwn/hon/hyn)?"

Which is a construction for "want" that uses the verb to be

    I be wanting?

So the responses for that would be "Ydw" (I am) or "Nac ydw” (I'm not)

Literally, it means "are you for saving?"

so, presumably you read welsh... what is your opinion about "welsh translated UIs"... are they "acceptable", it was mentioned that, for example Polish people are kinda forgiving because they get used to "shitty translations"... is that the same for welsh or is it more grating?

But if the dialogue box was just the single word "Save?", then that would become "Cadw?", with responses "Cadw" and "Peidio â chadw"

When they're done well, it's great, but there's a lack of well-done translations

Microsoft has a habit of getting the grammar subtly wrong

but is it "alright", ie, very minor, or is it blatantly wrong and off putting (just curious really)

i asked my (Maltese) wife, and she basically said the same as was mentioned, that she doesnt even read / notice mistakes and just glosses over them

Like, they would have a dialogue box saying "Cadw'r ddogfen hon?" (Save this document?) with responses "Iawn" and "Na" (OK and No), which you can get used to but they're definitely awkward

When translated well, Welsh UIs are really nice

There's actually two coexisting and complementary plural systems
