I’ve got a static analysis/garbage collector type problem involving feature flags, multiple code repos, and services. I’m wondering if it has a name and optimal strategy towards solving it. There are hundreds of flags that seem like they are defined in constants file but never accessed. I can’t simply delete flags that are unused in one project because they might be passed to a second project via an endpoint. In order to “garbage collect” the “unused” flags I need to find the ones that are only defined in constant files across the system. (This is screaming set theory as I type it out 🦆 ) Has anyone encountered a problem like this and have a strategy for solving?

Hey Guys, I’ve a problem where I’m trying to embed some custom tenant -specific information to network packets which are flowing in an overlay network (VXLAN) while using Cilium CNI in the K8s cluster. I’m new to the networking area and might use some expert advice 🙂 Has anyone embedded some custom information in network packets in an overlay network at L2 layer before? TIA!

I'm about to open a big can of worms here...right now https://littlehorse.dev is closed-source (we plan to make it available as a SaaS/PaaS). The spiritual goal of the project is similar to Temporal (plenty of differentiation, but that's a different story). The clients are Apache 2.0 OSS, and there is a public sandbox to "try it out". We are considering going with the Server-Side Public License for the core runtime. A few questions: • How much of a difference would that make in terms of getting adoption (versus keeping the core code proprietary)? • Is the SSPL safe in terms of preventing AWS from hosting LittleHorse-as-a-Service? • Once something is OSS, you can't put the cat back in the bag. Is there a risk of losing significant revenue this way?

Hey all, Question for you, I've been seeing event sourcing all around for years, but have never seen an actual production implementation. Seems like a neat idea but can't figure how a business application actually functions this way (like how does this replace a RDBMS when querying?). And if you play them into an RDBMS then what is the point of the double storage? Just save a backup of the DB... What are the actual mechanics and how would an application/ system that works on event sourcing work (emitting events as audit or communication I get, but when you have state (lots of data and your user is searching, doing etc) - what storage is involved, how are queries performed? Sorry this is a little random, but I can't wrap my head around "real" use cases.
