Yeah, I'm thinking about playing the blade in our campaign and that painted mini almost sells me by itself!

Thanks guys, glad you like it! I started on the fur with a mix of African Shadow and Gobi Brown, gradually adding more of the latter. Then I started to add Thar Brown and for the final highlights a bit of Birch. (All Scale75) I deepened the shadows a bit with a glaze mixed form Dark Ochre, Earth Green and Dark Violet (Scale 75 Artist Range). The skin consists of the purple tones from Vallejo/Nocturna Malefic Flesh Set. Hope that helps 🙂

So how are you guys going with painting the enemies without spoiling yourself? Its playing the story until there is an encounter... then paint break... and then you continue, or how do you go about?

Still waiting for my box (I do have tracking, so its moving towards me, hopefully), but was pondering how to approach this.

We have been doing an Encounter -> Story basis for each session, will give time to paint between each one.

Yes, the manual it self give the kind of idea. If you have less then 3hour for the first session of the game , you should only play the story. So it's story 1 reveal encounter | break | encounter 1 / story 2 | break | encounter 2 etc.

Does it work in practice well? I am thinking after story you really want the action?

Works for us. Guess it depends on how impatient you are 😛

It’s what I plan to do as well. End the session after a story part, unpack the next encounter with the group and then have a break until that‘s painted.

I'll play either solo or with my older son, which means I will anyway have to separate story and encounter phases. So I plan to paint in between. Let's see how this works out and whether I will get impatient once I start playing. But first the game will have to arrive 😅

Yeah, also I am not fastest painter... so it will take quite a few hours to have a monsters... or group of them done. But maybe I could keep it up for weekend gaming sessions.

Just paint them then. Everyone started somewhere, and everything is nicer than plain grey plastic 🙂

I can’t recommend contrast paints enough for non-painting board gamers. Rattle can prime, then one coat of paint. Done. Doesn’t even matter if you are sloppy - on tabletop you won’t notice.

I'd definitely mess them up. Visual art is not my strong suit
