Yea getting some colour on the table was my priority, gonna try and keep taking leaves of out of other peoples books. Learning lots by doing so it’s all good stuff! Can’t wait to see more of your work!

@Aether Monk I'm partial to purple, myself, so I like the tail.

So, I’m very much the target audience for contrast paint. I’d rather not have grey minis, but I don’t want to spend the time/am not happy with the results, when I paint properly. With contrast, I spray prime (single colour, no Zenithal for me!), then slap on a single coat of an appropriate colour. I’m messy, I don’t thin the paints, I don’t mix colours to get the right tone, I just brush it on straight from the pot. And I’m very happy with the results! It doesn’t look anywhere near as nice as what I’ve seen you guys posting, but it looks fine on the table.

(Nb, I did break my rule on the wall greenery - I did a purple wash over the top of the green, to give it a more mossy feel)

I should also note that I’m purposefully going for a darker tone - for me the deep wood is a cold, dark place, and I wanted the terrain to reflect that

Very nice, you did better with your contrast use than I did

Very nice - that is exactly my approach. I am not an artist, I enjoy painted minis and sometimes the relaxation of painting, but once my game shows up I know I will want to paint the figures in a few days. And I don't want to spoil myself the bosses before the story parts, so hope to paint them in between sessions generally in one go. And your terrain certainly looks table top ready!

Really nice to see some tips for how to do things quickly and effectively. Especially encouraging for other people new to painting

I've just seen yours - we do have a similar colour scheme. Not sure my contrast is any better though!

Bit of a copycat effort of trents tutorials, but happy with her. Big shoutout for giving me inspiration!

Second house done (apart from the door handle 😆). Happier with the roof colour on this one.

Yeah the second house looks like the roof is built from.the bark auf the same tree the walls were built of.

Did any of you wash their minis before priming/painting?

Some did, probably people worked with resin before. Other did not, like me. I painted other miniatures before with PVC, ABS and HIPS like Descent 2ed, some from Reaper and Games-Workshop. Never had problems with priming unwashed miniatures.

Alright, thanks. Never washed anything but cast resin either, just wanted to hear if anybody had problems with the Oathsworn-minis when not washed 🙂

Never washed mini's either before priming, never had issues. If they are straight from the box I doubt its nesseceary

Finally got a chance to start priming, so started with terrain! Going with a three stage zenithal with rattle cans 😄
