i like the point that you can lookup in the github page, so i can put my science notes (and many other stuff) in and people can search whatever term they want to find

in the future, we'll release a browser extension that will let you query your published notes from anywhere

imagine the dendron lookup instead of search, and being able to access that anywhere, even when you're not inside vscode or on your dendron web page

There must be a bug with CopyNoteURL command because the docs links aren't clickable in recent announcements They start with
    https:/
    instead of
    https://
. I suspect that this particular
    path.join
line does this: https://github.com/dendronhq/dendron/blob/992f5f0d69b06afb47bdeb6f12728d172d3a9b4f/packages/plugin-core/src/commands/CopyNoteURL.ts#L56 I didn't try running my own dendron version to debug but an experiment on repl.it shows the same behaviour

Hi, hope it's alright to ask a not-related question to Anytype. Does anyone use or know of an alternative service to Google Photos?

yep, this is an open channel πŸ™‚ i’ve used amazon photos and apple photos in the past. they all offer almost equivalent functionality. is there anything specific you’re looking for?

I think what I'm looking for is moving away from monopolized services and for the functionality of easily sharing files/pictures locally, I ran into Resilio and Syncthing, they work pretty well. I abused the unlimited storage of Google Photos and now I have almost 70 thousand photos. A regular user such as me shouldn't have that many. Most likely the pictures that really have value are a quarter or less than that out of 70 thousand.

Damn, 70k, that is good going. I am at about 30k πŸ™‚ I find the functionality and ease of using G Photos a breeze and so easy but annoyed since they stopped the auto sync with G Drive.

uhff, you guys got me beat... i think i have more notes than photos πŸ˜… i used adobe lightroom with external hard drives + backblaze back in the days I was doing more photography

Yes, it is a breeze to use Google Photos but I'm feeling absorbed by the Google system and would like to not be. haha. What I think is the best option is to have all the photos locally and use P2P sharing. Resilio and Syncthing are good for that. There-s also a self-hosted open source platform, Piwigo, dedicated for photos.

But right now, I'm trying to declutter my Google Photos, there are so many that are just bad and nonsense photos. But it's taking so much time. And then download the photos I want and delete the whole content of Google Photos.

whenever i'm spring cleaning data, i tend to do a delete and start over approach. keep all the old stuff in an external archive and only take what i find interesting (vs delete what I don't think is needed)

I see. I don't have my pictures on a hard drive anymore, they're all on G Photos and because G Photos automatically uploads everything from a mobile device, well, there's too many pictures now. Yesterday I spent all day selecting the pictures I wanted for downloading but I lost patience. It was just too much time and work. Today I'm trying deleting what I don't need, idk, I'm finding that somehow better... I'll see what happens...

I don't get how they could store all photos on all devices "using a fraction of the space" πŸ€” My phone certainly doesn't have enough space for all my photos...

I don't get it either really well, but I started using the software. You choose one device (e.g. external hard disk) as your main location where you store all the pictures and in there the software creates thumbnails, does some shrinking, yadda yadda and you can see all the pics on your phone. I haven't tried the offline sync, basically disconnecting my external hard drive and check if I can still see the pics on my phone.
