You can launch frxtray for the user which has a traffic light system to allow you to see the status.
r
check the location of the OST inside of outlook. Then do a
frx list-redirects
and see if that location shows up as redirected
j
This is for office containers only. I see a yellow traffic light.
r
you have to launch frx from
C:\Program Files\FSLogix\Apps
l
@Ryan Gallier nailed it. Just you said for a user to know. If you look at FSLogix docs it will tell you about the traffic lights.
r
yeah, i guess i'm giving end users too much credit. lol
l
But if you scripted the output to just produce a message box, all good ;-)
j
Thanks guys!
r
nods

Curious question, the ost file is located in the default directory and the size is 1.2gb. Is that real storage on the local disk? I do see it connected to share though.
Check this, just yellow means your office container is working. Red means it's not.
That's not storage on the local disk no, that's stored in the vhd.
j
Even though it looks like it’s local
l
Exactly, that's what FSLogix does. If you log that user off you can mount the vhd manually and browse the contents.
j
Thank you both!!
l
No problem.
b
Hah, I never noticed the traffic lights before
l
Funny isn't it, I actually thought it was a great idea.
