@Nick Panaccio I am redirecting onenote caches to local_<username> with redirections.xml. If you don't then search breaks. I also redirect chrome/firefox junk as well as excel and word junk. I have a script that builds the redirections.xml file at logon. here is an example of what a redirection file may look like - don't use it as firefox and chrome caches can be named differently. <?xml version="1.0"?> <FrxProfileFolderRedirection ExcludeCommonFolders="128"> <Includes> <Include>AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART\</Include> <Include>AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP</Include> </Includes> <Excludes> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\mozilla\firefox\Profiles\gd7uwqge.default\cache2</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\mozilla\firefox\Profiles\gd7uwqge.default\jumpListCache</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\mozilla\firefox\Profiles\gd7uwqge.default\OfflineCache</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\mozilla\firefox\Profiles\gd7uwqge.default\startupCache</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\mozilla\firefox\Profiles\gd7uwqge.default\thumbnails</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Storage</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\GPUCache</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Sync Data</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\blob_storage</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\IndexedDB</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Code Cache</Exclude> <Exclude Copy="0">AppData\Local\Microsoft\Onenote\16.0\cache</Exclude> </Excludes> </FrxProfileFolderRedirection>
here is the powershell code behind it - i converted it to an executable and run it with WEM https://pastebin.com/cNNcxW0v

I knew I recalled seeing somebody exclude OneNote - it was your script. In my case, it’s a W10 VDA and we gave the search index disabled. Still, I’ve been thinking about excluding OneNote’s cache because I’ve seen some downright absurd folders (20gb).
Ignoring the search index, is there a real case to not redirect OneNote’s cache?
I take it that you leave AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneNote\16.0\Backup alone?
d
@Nick Panaccio I just do the cache folder.
