there’s very specific syntax for how to add those folders in and it’s not intuitive at all, I’ll see if I can dig it up
m
file///c\applications
No effect
m
I think it needs quotes?
"file:///C:\Users\*"
m
I have to try :)

it was something dumb like that when I was hitting my head on it, I think capitalization might also matter for some reason
I can’t find the email where I had it laid out as it was from an old job

Default Indexed Paths Registry Hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Registry Path SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search\DefaultIndexedPaths Value Name {number} Value Type REG_SZ Default Value
I'm going to put my head against the wall if quotes are the solution😄
Strange, this link
They use the normal folder C:\.....
m
maybe it changed? That’s weird
m
2016 and windows 10 20H2, a lot of difference but I'll try
Thanks
OK I tried policy. All is OK. I think the policy add additional keys. Just set up C:\Applications

Good to know, thanks

I think "file:///" etc is only needed if you add the setting straight to the registry via regedit.
