Has anyone had a customer completely do away with profile management in their VMware Horizon environment? I am working with a customer and they are evaluating the need for profile management going forward.

For VMUG members, can you still download ISOs from the https://vmugadvantage.onthehub.com/? I can see my license keys from my 'orders', but where do you download the ISOs?

I recently upgraded a client to CVAD 2402 LTSR CU2, and they encountered an error message. Despite everything being updated, I can't figure out why this issue is occurring. I found on Reddit that other customers are experiencing the same problem, but no solution has been provided. Has anyone come across this before? If so, how did you resolve it?

Can anyone explain why a largely current install of Windows 11 24H2 fails to install language packs with Install-Language, but then install the latest cumulative update, and reboot it then works? This should work out of the box without updates, surely.

General question. FSLogix vs others. If others, i.e., AppSense (Ivanti) or ProfileUnity were free. Would you still go with FSLogix? Also, anyone here migrated from one of these to FSLogix because FSLogix was a better solution or simply due to costs?

Question to the audience, in terms of Optimization Tools. Looking at the ones from Citrix/Omnissa and the ones from the community (VDOT and the Windows Enterprise Defaults), at the end of the day how much difference there is between all of these? And what you guys think is the de-facto standard as of now? Or it does not matter, any will do the job?

Does anyone have a template they use for an "environment overview" they'd be willing to share? I know every org is different, but I haven't found a standardized template for providing an overview of a VDI environment - not necessarily a technical deep dive with names of every server, but a more high level, here's the env, users it serves, methods of access, etc

Are there any downloads available yet for Unicon or DeviceTrust? I would like to get started with full test versions, but don't see the binaries for either, or the license for Unicon.

Anyone have any updated tricks to force Edge to not even check for updates? I have every single policy available configured, yet MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe or MicrosoftEdgeUpdateBroker.exe runs when you go to Help/About and throws the UAC prompt. In the past, these policies would never even allow the update process to get that far, but now I can't seem to prevent this behavior unless I disable UAC entirely.

Question on Azure Local, around new Hyper-V based deployments. As of now, yes, SCVMM is still around it seems so for on-prem workloads, Hyper-V with SCVMM is an option (not saying a good one, just that it is one). Now, Azure Local comes to the picture. Leaving costs discussions aside, as of today what would you go for between these two options and why? Also if anyone has experience with Azure Local, what is the dependency on Azure (meaning, if Azure control plane is down, I know workloads keep going, but what else is lost)? I know PowerShell can be used and maybe Arc but what can be done/cannot be done if the mothership control plane is unavailable? Any comments on the PROs and CONs of using one vs another?
