I don't have access to it, but our service desk uses Bomgar for everything (most OS's) and love it.

p
Bomgar when we can. Else sometimes it comes down to a Facetime call...
n
Facetime? Has my dad contacted you about support?
p
Thin clients....
n
I can't recall what others use, but IGEL includes VNC, and seems to work well. Even with external clients.
p
We're trying to move to IGEL. Progress is glacial though, due to a number of factors. Would give us Secure VNC and also ability to run ControlUP agent on the endpoints so I'm 100% behind it. For now, We're Dell ThinOS.
<back on track> Bomgar is a good solution, though i'm not familiar on its setup / system reqs. Just an end user.
t
QuickAssist which installs through the appstore thats all we have at this bank
p
There was a vuln with QuickAssist a while back. I don't know if that was fixed but our Cyber team pulled it globally.
m
I’ve used that but resizing the screen is a bit weird, it doesn’t seem to like multi screen or huge resolutions
t
Was that before it was placed in the appstore that's interesting to know
p
@Touseef Rehman There was a couple reasons why we pulled it. 1: It's a home user tool and has no place in the enterprise - no logging, no real access controls.. 2: MS enabled it by default in enterprise... 3: It had a vuln that allowed sessions set to view only mode full control.

When independent I always used Zoom. When subbing through someone I always used what they provided - Zoom, Webex, Ring Central, etc.
Depends if you need attended or unattended.
m
Unattended would be ideal
r
@Mike Streetz (O_P) you could use our new HDX screensharing that is build into the VDA. If you publish the viewer as a PubApp you can let people use it remotely
👍🏽 2
m
might be hard to use while doing citrix upgrades though
r
As long as you don't update your VDA your fine
m
I’ll give it a go
r
It should perform really well as it is also using HDX. Also in terms of resource consumption
m
will it work in a 7.15 CU3 backend if the VDA is 2206? I need to get access to upgrade their environment.
r
Yes, but you need to set the policy to enable it manually
👍 2
You can also upgrade the GPO extension on your management server if you set policy via gpo instead of studio
d
You can also try AnyDesk: https://anydesk.com/en
s
@Rody Kossen Does screensharing shares users machine also?
r
@Salim Hurjuk No, only the VDA
s
Okay thanks
t
we have different tools, • Remotely Anywhere, end-client support • sometimes just Citrix Director tool, end-user • and we have bomgar as pam solution, only to access backend systems
j
Hey Mike, I think you only use ControlUp Real-time DX (although I've been out of the loop for a bit on your environment), but with Edge DX you get remote control/shadow/shell for Windows, macOS, Linux and thin clients including IGEL.
m
I’ve moved on from that company and am back to consulting, so working with multiple different clients now. Would Edge DX work for that?
j
Hey Mike, yes, all versions of our Physical Endpoints & Apps offering (aka Edge DX) include this functionality. Recorded a quick video to show the options (which can be restricted through RBAC). Also supports linux (requires vnc), but don't have a device up and running at the moment to show, so just showing Windows and macOS
