Has anyone actually moved from Folder Redirection (in a user's home drive) to OneDrive seamlessly? I'm not seeing much out there, and the Migration Manager and SharePoint Migration tools don't look like they're actually suited for this.

just starting down this venture, one of the road bumps we are encountering is we have multiple delivery groups with multiple published applications. Due to onedrive.exe needing to launch at logon, to get the onedrive entry in explorer or any save as dialogue box, when a user launches apps from multiple different delivery groups, you get multiple onedrive icons in your taskbar. I have a ticket open with Microsoft on this. Not a huge deal breaker but not ideal.

Following as OneDrive is coming my way. I've done a quick research and it looks like SPMT can migrate from file shares to OneDrive.

Did a project for this years ago, it just involved lots of robocopy, went pretty smoothly

How did you map the OneDrive? SPMT or?
j
WebDAV

SPMT seems like it would be ideal for normal file shares, but we're trying to move redirected folders from within personal home drives directly to OneDrive. Which seems kinda insane.
j
OK yeah you still could migrate the homedir shares and then delete everything except the redirected folders. Just an idea ...

ShareGate
Or don't migrate anything, start a fresh, and tell users to copy what they need. You can use the SPMT or ShareGate if you want to pre- stage the users data

I use cloud drive mapper from iamcloud it maps the users Onedrive as a network drive. They also have folder redirection functionality but you have to redirect the folders back to the local profile first before redirecting them to Onedrive

cloud drive mapper, Ivanti, you got all the goodies over there!
