Do you think Windows 365 is the next big desktop MS push vs AVD? I personally do.

Does New Teams on VDI support the "Call Resume" (or "Join Call") feature? For example, someone answers on phone, and the logs on to computer, and it says "Press here to Join call from your computer", etc...? I don't see it listed as a feature that does not work on VDI, so in theory it should work....

So here's an interesting problem, wonder if anyone has any solutions? Small company down the road from me have an Office365 account (two users). They bought their licenses through a consultant. They own a domain name that they send emails to and this appears to forward onto their M365 accounts. Guy who sold them the licenses and runs everything for them got arrested. Now, it appears, their M365 bill is unpaid. So they can't log and get their email, etc. because it says "access blocked to tenant" because their bill hasn't been settled. Of course, to pay your bill you need to log in to the admin center. The guy who's been arrested is the only admin. He's given them his username and password but - it needs MFA. And his phone is material evidence in an ongoing case so there's no chance of getting the phone. No backup email set up either. How on earth can these poor buggers log in to pay their bill and get access back to their email and docs? They don't even know their own tenant name, thanks to handing control of everything to a "trusted" consultant. Is there some sort of Microsoft process for allowing people into their admin center who've been locked out in this way? Any Microsoft partners out there have a clue?

Interesting. New teams installed on 2022 shared desktop with boot straper. \teamsbootstrapper.exe -p -o "c:\path\to\teams.msix" Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Teams disableAutoUpdate set to 1 to disallow auto update. User gets a messege that teams need to update hits ok and a .exe is downloaded. User is able to install. Anyone seen this? and did they just update for everyoen on the machine? (Screenshot in thread)

Speaking of auto updates. In RDS\Citrix desktops you have to define the location you want the teams outlook add in to be placed so it s not installed to the users appdata and instead is installed in a location like progamdata so all users on the server can access it. What happens when you have teams auto update on? Does teams just update the client and the we are suppose to update the teams outlook addin?

Hitting a wall with Teams v2 on 2022 again. I’ve gotten this to work recently after using @Jeff Riechers updated script (Thanks Jeff!) and combinging that with Thomas Koetzings posts, but it was a complete bear. Now dealing with this at a new site, same type of issues. Here’s some good clues and would love to hear the groups input: 1. Multiple users work, but only in an OU with blocked GPOs and using RDP. Citrix connections don’t work (spins for a bit, doens’t launch, error about kernelbase.dll) 2. If moved to an OU with some basic GPOs, RDP nor Citrix does not work (admin or non-admin). We’ve followed Thomas K’s post recommendations, and used Jeff’s installs script as well as trying Neverred - but keep hitting the wall with the kernelbase.dll error. We’re at a bit of a loss why RDP would work but Citrix not (when in a naked OU).

Hi all! I am on the brink of going crazy! The not so new Teams anymore is driving me nuts. The installation on a server 2022 (RDS) appear to be going smoothly (used both Neverred and Koetzings methods, never had a problem) and it appear on the admin start menu and can be launched. The problem is that when a users signs in there is no trace of Teams at all, neither on the start menu (normally the other way around, impossible to get rid of it) or through shell:appsfolder. Not possible to create the shortcut msteams:/. Tried with a local profile to rule out Fslogix but no luck. Anyone seen anything like this?

Windows 11, single user pooled virtual desktops. On the master image, do you actually need to install Teams, or does it ship with the OS now? When I spin up an image with no apps, I can see "Microsoft Teams" in the Start Menu. Or do I need to install the bootstrapper?

So have a customer testing "New Outlook" with FSLogix and Instant Clones (Horizon). So far so good, except users experience a 1-2 minute delay when opening sometimes, where text doesn't appear and reading pane doesn't work. After that works like a charm from what I hear.

Can Office 2024 LTSC still be used with VDI/VDA? It looks like all references to use Shared Device/Shared Activation, have been removed from any Office 2024 LTSC documentation?

Does anyone else experience black artifacts occasionally covering options and elements in Excel 365 since version 16.0.19029.20244 and did you find a solution? The only thing that worked for us was a rollback of the masterimage to last month... We tried Server 2019 with september updates and MS365 semi annual enterprise channel, but that version has the same issue. Here are some other peeps with the same problem and no real solution https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5520133/how-to-fix-an-issue-where-a-black-bar-is-covering I do not think it's citrix or fslogix related, since it also happens in RDP sessions. VDAs are 2019 multi session desktops, 2402 LTSR CU1, FSLogix 2.9.8884.27471

Is anyone else familiar w/ the new Microsoft Edge switching their build in pdf handler to be Adobe powered? we're told from MS its a phased rollout between october - march and no way to know for sure if you have it or not . we have a homegrown legacy web app that uses adobe live cycle forms so we're stuck using IE Mode w/ that site and i'm mildly hopefuly that possibly this would let me ditch IE Mode Microsoft Edge Browser Policy Documentation NewPDFReaderEnabled | Microsoft Learn

Weird issue - anyone seen this before? When connecting to a 2022 server with the (latest) Teams, after launching, some users are getting “For the best experience on a virtual desktop, you need to restart Teams”. (this message continuously reappears) This only happens to users coming in from a Windows endpoint though. From thin clients (or my Mac), this message does not appear. The odd thing is - both show Citrix HDX Optimized. I would have expected the ones prompting for restarts would NOT be HDX Optimized and thus require some action. But they are. 🤔

I have an old application that used to run on Excel 2007 on XenApp 6.5 which we are migrating to Excel 365 on AVD. It runs with really (ludicrously) relaxed macro security, hence why it is being limited to RemoteApp AVD instances on Windows 11 multi-session. This all works OK, except for one thing - whenever the app is launched (the command line is basically excel.exe /r pathtofile.xlsm) I get this error thrown. If you click OK, everything works as normal - I'm just wondering if it is possible to get rid of the error? I think it may be related to Office File Validation or something, but I'm darned if I can work out how (or even if it is possible) to turn this off. Any ideas?

Does anyone have any information about Teams SlimCore support for Mac and Linux? Nearly a year ago the expectation was Mac around July and Linux at the end of the year. We're nearly at the end of the year and neither are here. A critical use case has come up where users need to give or take control of their screens and it's impossible to do on Linux+WebRTC.
