late to the party regarding MS teams and slimcore optimization. I got the MS teams VDI plugin on latest CWA, 2507CU1 VDA's , Virtual channel allow list set for MS teams, Latest version of MS teams but when i check its still using HDX optimized / WEBRTC is there is a policy at the tenant level that needs to be set ?

Dumb question, but did you relaunch Teams after that initial launch? I am 99% sure that it starts with webrtc/HDX and then confirms/switches to Slimcore, but requires a relaunch of Teams (should also show you a pop up).

First thing I'd try is changing the virtual channel policy to Disabled (to allow all) just for the hell of it. Pretty sure there are event log entries for the VC detecting the channel, too.

Slimcore has been working for us, so I took a look at our settings. There's a

VDI2Optimization

flag in there that might need to be set. Here's our global policy (only one we have right now):

Identity                            : Global

DisableCallsAndMeetings             : False

DisableAudioVideoInCallsAndMeetings : False

VDI2Optimization                    : Enabled

Thanks does it have any impact if it's enabled tenant wide ? I got to get teams vdi plugin deployed to all endpoints so don't want to mess up the current teams webrtc optimization

IIRC if the Slimcore pieces aren't available the connection will fall back to HDX optimized if that's available. You can also use

New-CsTeamsVdiPolicy

to make a custom policy set , then`GrantCsTeamsVdiPolicy` to assign users/groups to it.

Do you see the Slimcore package on the endpoint? Try Get-Appxpackage %*slimcore*%

Update its now working 🙂 I tested in a full published desktop and launching ms teams showed slimcore optmization and just tested the seamless ms teams app and that is also now showing slimcore optimization. Maybe i needed a reboot of my machine after the teams VDI plugin or restart of VDA after the virtual channel policy
