I just tested with the device. The ethernet port is for Internet IN. I thought I had tested that in the past but I guess I didn't.  Essentially it has two modes, Wireless in, this is where it can connect to the Verizon MiFi. It then access as a WiFi hotspot to create a local wifi network. You also can connect it to a wired internet connection and create a wifi hotspot for a local wifi network.  I thought for sure the ethernet port could be used the other way as well, but it doesn't seem to work that way

It still is a really cool device, especially because the usb port can handle a thumbdrive with media on it. It acts as a media server.  As I said previously, I used it in the car for road trips.  Connect it to 5v micro usb in the car, my kids devices connected to it via wifi and they all streamed movies/tv shows from the usb drive as we drove down the road.  Unfortunately, in the scenario you are talking it might not be the solution.

That being said.. I am now in the market for the same thing you guys are since I have a demo I am going to need to do for a mobile demo kit as well.

No, the Ethernet port on TripMate is a WAN port, which can only receive hard wired network signal and convert it into wireless network signal, then rebroadcast it out. You cannot use the TripMate to receive a wireless network then output it via this WAN port.

Awesome <@U3Y8CV1MY> no problem, the product was just in my Amazon cart. As <@U3XTHA74K> mention &amp; I did test this, I can connect to my MiFi, Complex WiFi etc on my Windows 10 Laptop then use LCS to share it out on LAN which again connect to EdgeRoute Lite3 on WAN1 or WAN2. Did tons of tests and it works flawless, the ping drop is just 4-5 retries before it switch over.

Since most customers block that on their guest network, or doing it over 4g is terrible because of latency

Cool, is it possible to get a Verizon 4G pay as you go? I've only see that you need to be US citizen and pay fixed price per month

No idea. I'm in the US and Citrix pays for my 4G mifi

These Startech usb devices are driving me nuts. It passes traffic. Can ping anything (resolution works fine) but can only browse to google...

No proxies. Switch to on-board NIC on same VM (no reboot) and you can browse to anything
