I know 6.5 is working and officially supported but didn't know if 6.5a works well. Would like to upgrade my lab

Would like to equip each of my lab hosts with 1TB 960 EVO but was reading some very bad reviews from users that couldn't "retrieve" used space on Windows

Anyone got any experience with pfsense? Got the weirdest situation! Flat 192 network, so I use XenServer and DVS to create a virtual 10.x network. I put pfsense in as the firewall but with no real rules (any/any). Created my domain controller and everything seems to be working. Windows services, ping, etc; all resolve correctly and all seem to work. What doesn't work is browsers... any browsers. I can drop the machine back over to my prod network and it's fine, put it back behind pfsense and the browser stops working. Totally baffled!

@User: that sounds very similar to what @User experienced. It was an MTU issue with a buggy driver

@User probably a dumb question but I had a similar issue recently and it was the default router and DNS settings.

@User: It's not DNS. There's no way it's DNS. It was DNS. ;)

Hrm... ok. Any pointers @dready on where to look? DNS seems to be functioning fine as far as I can tell, since I can resolve the hosts with ping. Just get page cannot be displayed in the browsers.

@User I just published a blog post on using VyOS, check it out, you'll be up and running in 3 minutes - https://xenappblog.com/2017/vyos-virtual-router-on-nutanix-ce/

Thanks... seems basically the same as what I did with pfsense. I'm not sure where my error lies truthfully, whether it's the firewall or the Windows VMs themselves. Maddening to see it resolve the host but not get any data in the browser 🙂

Unlike OpenWRT or pfSense, VyOS is more similar to traditional hardware routers, with a focus on comprehensive support for advanced routing features such as dynamic routing protocols and command line interface. However, we do not neglect other features such as VPN and firewalls.

I had the same problem yesterday, with RAS acting VERY strange on Nutanix for some reason. Even better, the low foot print.
