https://labratshq.slack.com/archives/general/p1486397368000847 Yesterday, I received the SX6036, switch was clean & in great condition. I upgraded the FW to 3.6.xx. Total cost $431.00. The switch even has Redundant power supplies, how cool is that...😎

problem with hard setting channels is, when your neighbors are dynamic you might running into interference issues too

did some looking last night with Insidder, no cross over with channels with my neighbours, so still need to determine why my signal drops in and out in particular with Apple devices

check for non wifi too: microwave, babyphones, luminescent tubes, fridge, central heating, etc.

I'm guessing theres tools out there that can pick up other non wifi signals to see what might be causing the drop outs, now that you've mentioned it we do have a baby monitor in between the devices and the AP.

quite a lot of work to troubleshoot and not always easy to mute the source. we had lots of issues on our campus wifi with dropping signal, interference, etc. one of the main problems was our legacy wifi gear, btw avoid sonicwall for wifi ;) it did dynamic channel selection but only on boot of the APs. so when something happened in the spectrum after election of the channels it did not adjust. don't know if your gear supports this. with our new wifi hardware the issues disappeared. i guess because it constantly monitors the spectrum and adjusts the channels and power.

@User Hello Mate, I’m configuring the new AP for my travel kit. I’m using the apple airport express

I have a few points to make. 1. DHCP must run on it, the only way of not setting it up with DHCP is configuring the AP on Bridge mode but then even if I set a manual IP for the interfaces I can get the airport expresss to route any traffice

so I guess we will have to stop DHCP at the AD server

the workaround is create a 2-IP DHCP scope on the airport express and define the same two IPs as reservation.

@User one more thing, I can’t plug a wired from my network to the WAN port and use the internet. It detects it has a double NAT and asks me to switch it to bridge mode. I think this is actually to smart of a router. We might need another solution. Updating firmware and see what I can find

I think I just fixed it. I just need to setup the DHCP with a public DNS server like 8.8.8.8

the double nat could be from your internet router
