Got me why not! The market keeps advancing; even the RPi 3B+ has 1 Gb Ethernet (finally).

Yup. Will see if it has 2x HDMI ports which would be great, as would be more memory to handle larger frame buffers. 1920 x 1080 is a bit restrictive these days. It looks like in general the hardware development is slowing down, in part because of limits on what ARM CPUs are capable of and also the RPi Foundation seems to want to focus more on software-based projects these days, as they feel they have done what they set out to do with the hardware and then some. https://www.alphr.com/raspberry-pi/1005103/raspberry-pi-4-release-date-rumours-specifications

I have both. Cisco I am more familiar with but is costlier and only way I can afford is to buy second hand so no warranty. I have UBNTs 8 port switch and I have found it to be quite capable

I agree - UBNT if you are running the rest of it on that platform then its a good move.

While we're on the topic, has anyone upgraded their controllers to > 5.10.12? If so, what version are you running? I went to 5.10.12 last week, read about all the db issues on the forum/Ubnt Discord and have been waiting for 5.10.19 to go live from stable candidate.

I'm all UBNT now. I think I only have 1 Cisco 24 port switch left sitting on a shelf now unplugged.
